Friday ride because it is Friday

Nothing much happened, no plonkers on their phones, nobody pulled out in front of me and definitely no segments claimed

Road Cycling 58:03 [4] 27.03 km (27.9 kph) +156m

On my own private Strava route to Scarborough and back. Managed my 4th fastest time for the route. Blustery easterly did not have too much impact with a bit of tail wind going north but so much as to totally kill the southern section on the coast.

Legs were burning a bit up Lemnos and then got a bit caught in traffic at the Nicholson Rd underpass.

First up John Cleese funny walks then a 4.5km course. Chased down Carol but Ken ran off on me

Gentle ride with Emma and Fizzyred for a coffee in East Perth

Avoided EQ and stayed on the South Side

Orienteering (Mapping) 50:00 [1] 2.8 km (17:50 / km) +11m 17:30 / km

A quick wander around part of the Shenton College Map to check for changes on the ground after Noel updated the base.

Now for a re-learning of OCAD - I suspect the OCAD time will be greater than the walking time

shoes: Colnago CLX

Easy ride to loosen the legs which are still feeling heavy from the Rogaine.

Meet Bryce at the lights going into to Kings Park and road up to near Fraser's discussing missing points and the way WARA works with problems in the results system. Lots of anomalies on the weekend with the cross over from manual to digital results.

Did a couple of laps to Tawarri

Walk / Run 32:34 [3] 4.09 km (7:57 / km) +56m 7:27 / km
shoes: Black Asics GT 2000

Walked and chatted with Alan and Moreen to the DNA Tower then jogged back to Hale Oval.

Legs felt OK and had a good stretch session after when the muscles were a bit warm.

Rogaining race 11:50:00 [3] 58.87 km (12:04 / km) +1214m 10:56 / km

Upside Down Rogaine near Wandering with Owen Horton.

We planned for 56km straight line, but had a few small misadventures and had to knock out about 3.5km from the route so a straight line of 52.5km.

Did some running (well slow shuffle jogging) after dawn to make sure we had time to finish our loop, and made it back with about 10 minutes to spare.

Nice area for a Rogaine with a mixture of Bush, Pine Plantations and Farmland. Starting at 8:00pm it is always a bit of a challenge to get straight into the night navigation. Owen is a strong competitor and good navigator so we both worked hard to keep up at time and shared the navigation. We both made mistakes some of which the other picked up but some were not until it was too late and we had overshot a control!

Came 3rd Overall, behind Will & Dave 1st and Tim & Shane 2nd, so had the honour of Supervet winners but it seems Tim and Shane will be lining up for their pensions soon and are Vets.
