Training Log Archive: LOST_Richard

Across the 1 km bridge to Tasinge Island south of Svendborg, had intended to go via Bjerreby but somehow took a wrong turn in the middle of the island and ended up in Landet so skipped the SE portion of the island! Cut off 5 or 6km.

Sunny but cool and only a light breeze, very nice rural riding along back lanes with only a few cars and dotted thatched cottages and farm houses. Lots of birds singing, Larks?

Stopped at the Valdermars Slot Castle, its main claim to fame is the largest collection of stuffed animals in this part of the world, decided we did not need to spend our Krones on dead animals. Failed to find a coffee stop on the island but did have a nice one back in Svendborg, only $7 each for Cortado. I won't be mentioning Perth Coffee prices again. (mind you 400gm of fresh local cod was cheaper than the coffee!)

Short run around the water in random German town before making our way north to Denmark. Was aiming to turn around at 2km but the path ran out so ending up cutting short as could not motivate to run past the hotel and back :-(

Ride into Ede in the drizzle and checked out the market, lots of Hollandse Nieuwe around. We had some nice fried small bits of fish and bought some Atlantic Wolffish which the market stall owner assured us was the best fish he had in his shop.

Coffee came with a biscuit and a shot glass with Amaretto and whipped cream, maybe The Otherside Coffee shop in Swanbourne could start the same.

Ride back to Otterlo through the forest on dedicated sealed bike paths, quite delightful mature beech and oak forest.

Checking out De Hoge Veluwe National Park near Otterlo in Netherlands. Includes 2 km walking around a lake.

Interesting and very large park with an art gallery and sculpture park in the middle. Nice relaxed day cruising around sans helmets and feeling Dutch.

Any ideas on a control description and map symbol for this sculpture?
