Why is a hour on a static bike so hard mentally whereas an hour on a road bike is pleasure?

Storm watching at City & Floreat Beach,

Winter came with a burst with 50-60mm of rain and plenty of wind. Sand all washed into the sea at Floreat with waves up to the edge of the dunes, and the shade cloths flying away at the picnic area at Floreat.
