Orienteering race 11:41 [3] 1.3 km (8:59 / km)
shoes: Ascis 2000 May 2018

Ultra Sprint 3

Forgot to turn the Garmin on!

Started to feel it towards the end but made it around all three courses with no punch errors.

Could have recorded a faster time for all three courses by going straight from the start to the finish on each course total of 47 controls at a penalty of 30 sec per control = total time 23:30 plus three 50m runs from start to finish ~ 1 min for a total of 24:30. My total time was 42:19

Might try that next year if we do the ultra sprint again!

Good fun event thanks to team Pass / Braid

Ultra Sprint 1

Not too much sprinting post rogaine. Legs pretty sore and got caught in one trap and was informed by Kate Braid that i was "off the map"

Orienteering race 13:32 [3] 1.4 km (9:39 / km) +1m 9:37 / km
shoes: Ascis 2000 May 2018

Ultra Sprint 2

Went a bit better than first one as the legs had warmed up a bit and I knew where the trap was!

Rogaining 11:03:52 [3] 44.0 km (15:05 / km) +793m 13:50 / km

12 hour Rogaine near Gunapin.

With Edward Plummer, went well for about 9 hours and then sore legs took over and we cut off part of the plan, still manged a 100 pointer in the paddocks. Made one 15 minute error when we turned the wrong way on a vague spur and hunted the bush too low down, then screwed up the next one not going far enough for gully and another 15minute error. Pretty much hit everything else spot on.

On reflection we could have got an extra couple of hundred points for pretty much the same distance but did not see the option when we cut off.

Edward's GPS said 46km not sure why he had 2km more then me on the old 310?

Some pretty average scratchy bush in part, and some very nice open bush in others.

Loads of flowers

8 ticks removed!

NOT Ride to Work day, so did a loop to the Stadium and then back to EQ for a freeloaders breakfast.

Quite a crowd, the coffee was a 20 minute wait so skipped that but did get a muffin, banana and a yogurt.

Had a look at the bike cams that were on display and chatted to a couple of people, but other than someone who recognised me as a rogainer I did not see anyone I knew. Maybe they have all retired as well.

Nice morning for a ride, warm but not too much wind.

Had planned to ride to Bayswater, but a large dog, sort of Labradoodle thing, raced across the grass at South Perth and crashed straight into Nicole. Luckily Nicole stayed upright but has a bruised leg and is pissed with dog owners who do not control their pets. It was not chasing Nicole just racing to get back to its owner who was calling and running fast and had too much poodle and not enough brains!

Got the usual BS from the owner "they don't normally run off like that" she was quite concerned but the fact is the #(*^$T^ dog was not under control and it could have been much worse.

Rode on the Stadium and then turned around and back to Circus for a coffee.
