Walk 1:00:00 [2]

Walked the Stout Grove trail and trail to the Smith River with Alex in the Jedediah Smith State Park next to Redwood National Park. Got lucky in missing the rain (it rained off and on the rest of the day). The drive to the grove was down a beautiful, old, narrow, gravel road. Lots of towering redwoods and sword ferns.

Later took a walk down to the beach from up above and climbed around on some rocks. Visited a sea cave with some powerful waves.

Walk 1:00:00 [2]

Walked near the trail at "Big Tree" in the state park near Redwoods National Park. Beautiful forest. A little rain but not much. Lots of giant redwoods and old growth forest.

run/walk 55:00 [3]

Ran along the beach (20 mins) at Point Reyes National Seashore Walked for 35 minutes with Alex (to and from the lighthouse from the parking lot and along the trail to see the elephant seals near chimney rock.). Beautiful day-acutally was sunny! Saw a lot of deer at the park. Also walked the earthquake trail which took us along the San Andreas fault. There were very few people in the park so most of the time we had the beach and trails to ourselves or just saw one or two other people. The elephant seals were fun-they mostly just laid there on the beach but sometimes one or a few of them would squirm along the sand for a few seconds, then flop back down, exhausted. Lots of babies. The beach has no development as far as you can see and we only saw three other people on it!
