Running race (AR) 1:40:00 [3]* 14.8 km (6:45 / km) vdot: 52.6
shoes: Raid 500 (black ones)
Questars race on Cannock Chase with Sarah. Run was a highlight, apart from the usual Chase thing of the OS map being useless in places. We seemed well matched, probably because it was only for 100 mins.
Kayaking race (AR, flatwater) 54:00 [3]* 6 km (9:00 / km)
Paddle stage on a canal. We were quite good actually, first time I've paddled with Sarah. We got all but one CP before the 3pm cut-off, maybe could've just got the last one if I hadn't got us lost on the bike making us 3 mins late starting.
Cycling race (AR) 2:57:00 [2]* 31.1 km (5:41 / km)
The bike section, which was actually 3 sections. On the way to the run (2 CP), on the way to the kayak (3 CP) and after the kayak (3 CP). Our kayak slot of 2pm with a 10:42 start and a 6 hour race left us with very little choice of doing alot of biking, certainly got nowhere near the big pointers. The only choice would've been to just do 15 mins of running which wouldn't suit us as this is (between us) our strongest suit.

Tuesday Jul 15

Running tempo (Road) 38:51 [4]7.5 km (5:11 / km)
shoes: Kiprun 2000
Lap of Normanton, probably for the last time before impending even more northernness. Knee still not great and as the time dictates I've lost some running fitness in the last couple of months because of it. Still, get through the 24 in 11 days time and I'll be happy.

Monday Jul 14

Cycling (MTB) 45:02 [4]16.5 km (2:44 / km)
Usual MTB route. Feeling quite good. New tyre combo feels better, but then it was drier than it has been.
