Note
Battle Hill

Had such a keen and willing team of helper elves, and my cousinish (who runs yellow for HIBS school team) that I was going to coach round the orange course didn't appear, so never actually left the event centre for any loggable "orienteering". Which wasn't my intention, honest. Feel like I had a run though, so it must just be all the standing round at the event centre that tires the legs out...? Semi-lucky with weather, never exactly nice but the bulk of runners were finished before it got truly nasty. Just over 50 runners, just enough to make it worthwhile in my mind and not bad for the weather. All comments heard were positive ones, so course setter earns a smiley face, shame it wasn't a day for hanging round chatting about route choices. World's fastest midget (who I note has started shooting up so we may need to find a new nickname before I've managed to get this one to stick) took out the red long fairly convincingly. Bill E could probably have beaten him up a bit, but some of the other regulars who didn't appear today would have struggled to match his time.

Orienteering (course setting) 2:00:00 [1]***
Putting out controls for tomorrow. With much appreciated assistance from Gruver, got them all out, and 75% "boxed" (didn't have enough control attachments to put all the boxes out) which will make tomorrow am a much more relaxed experience. Wish the race was today actually as it was a stunner at Battle Hill, and it won't be tomorrow...
