Note
(sick) (rest day)
Coming down with a boomerang cold - just when I was getting properly back into the swing of things of course

Wednesday Jul 16

Run 1:01:00 [3]
Over to Tinakori Hill in the hope of getting some smallish repeated ups and downs. Not quite to plan though, even ended up on the summit ridge at one point. If I was going to be in Wellington much longer I'd see if I could dig out one of the old maps of that maunga, (assuming the maze of tracks hasn't changed too much) as half the time I had no idea where I was and the rest of the time I was wrong.

Monday Jul 14

Run 28:00 [4]
Did the "easy wednesday" loop (yeah, I know it's monday), supposed to be a recovery session after a hard workout yesterday. But despite coming the closest yet to tanking out on the way up Everton, once I started hitting downhills, got a good bit of speed up and by the time I got on the flat was enjoying myself too much to wind the pace back to what it was supposed to be. Also got lucky with almost all the traffic lights between the gardens/cemetary and waterfront which probably helped.

Sunday Jul 13

Run intervals 44:00 [4]
From home, down to the riverbank, then 4 x 4 min intervals with 2-3 min recoveries, then a slow "warm down" back home. Not the most convincing interval session ever, and had to walk a bit of not quite all the recoveries, but made the 4x4 target so not as bad as I thought it would be. Bewdy day!

Not a lot of sleep, if any, last night which is a worry, because it would have been nice to have got a good night in before the boys in Olmouac make all their finals!
