Orienteering 58:26 [4]

British Night Champs at Middleton Park, Leeds
Course 4 - 7.1km 190m climb. British Champion! :-)
Pretty happy with my race - planned and executed all routes safely and hamstring fine until the last couple of controls on downhill tarmac. Just dropped ~30secs on a short leg. Beat all the M55s - not too shoddy!

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

LampO from M&Ds. New format imported from God's Country - 45 min score using street light nos as controls. Excellent practice for planning ahead - both the control itself and the exit route. Also tested the new headtorch a second time, just in time for Saturday. Hamstring definitely not liking trying to run fast on tarmac to make it back for 45 mins.

Steady loop at lunchtime. Up to North Third. Was going to go up to the top of Carron Valley but there was snow on the road! So carried on past North Third, down around Barr Wood, Plean and back through Bannockburn. No surprises; legs not that great after yesterday.

Cycling/running combination not working too well at the moment. Tried to do some short intervals but my hamstrings, ITBs and quads were just too sore. Managed a loose 8 x 75secs with 1 min recovery in 2 blocks.

5km run after morning gymnastics. Felt like I might be getting gunky but it was the last day. Mr Green Team was definitely not a runner - too fast to start and left behind by the end!

Arrieta hill climb (~11km, 600m climb). It was windy. Very windy. The strength of wind that rippled your cheeks if you opened your mouth to breath! 2 hours into the headwind as warm up, then a fab hill climb up to the top of the mts section, and back over the lumps and bumps. Wind typically veered so got cross and head wind back from Tao too. Totally pooped.

La Santa - Mirador del Rio and back, oh yeah! Via all the mountains on the way out, and along the 1 coming back. The headwind was relentless and pretty strong all the way home - no rest even on the downs!

4km run with H in buggy after morning gymnastics. Quite hard work from half way round when the pavement bit ended - bumpy and rough & slightly uphill!

Intermediate MTB ride. Disappointing route - too technical in places for some of the punters so quite a bit of stop starting. Headed back early after hubby landed on his olecranon bursa. Popeye elbow apparently.
