Really quite enjoyed this, despite it being fast and furious. Apart from a banana to no 1 through not checking my compass, nice and clean. Happy to have snuck in between some W20 elites.

British Night Champs. Cademan & Thringstone Woods W35L 6.1km 130m
One day I will have time to test and prep my headtorch properly.
Knowing my new battery was only good for 35 mins, I went back to my old battery with my new torch. Discovered my mistake about 20 secs in....the loose connection. Doh! Every time I put my right foot down hard, the light went out. Tried to run as smoothly as I could! Not tooooo bad for the first half (maybe only 3-5 times a leg) but by no 15 it was going out almost every footstep. Swapped to my backup (kindly supplied by Dad) which did the job until the end although flopped about a bit too much and the light reflected off the map very differently.

O-ing wise I was pretty good until the 2nd road crossing when things began to fall apart a little (not helped by a pause to swap the headtorch). Massive paths marked as big white forest rather than paths totally fooled me on the way to 16 (relocated on 19). Bit scrappy the rest of the way and then completely lost the plot at the penultimate when distracted by an annoying bloke. However, not too bad all things considered (e.g. found the untaped map exchange without too much time loss), and only 43 secs off Tim Tett.

Not just the Peels that are Mr and Mrs British Night Champs :-)

Extended ladies' run. Started early and did some loops around potential string course areas, then 3 x hills up from the covered reservoir. Quick headtorch battery swap and then a mad chase to catch the ladies up. Good sesh. Shame about the battery - don't think the BNC course will be <35 mins!

TFL tightened up since being back at work. Not rocket science but hard to near-impossible to fix....permanent holiday required?!

Feeling sorry for the English half termers just turning up today....the weather has turned. Almost rained.

Weights in the gym with Mum. 45 mins instruction then went round again.

Well why not, try everything once. Jelly legs post workout, will look forward to the DOMS.

CLS - Fire Mts - Yaiza - San B - Famara - CLS
The windiest day so far, perfect for a long ride! Pooped by the end - Yaiza to Famara (felt like 80% of the ride!) was a strong headwind the whole way. An angel knew I wouldn't have enough food with me and left me a gel on the road back from Famara :-) Got a wave from Sarah Storey as she set off.

Tri 400m swim plus putting a top on and legging it round the pool to changeover.

Managed to overtake a few tri gents :-) (and beat hubby!)
Includes changing into bike shoes etc plus changing out of them.

Out to La Santa and back, finishing with a lap of the brand new track. Held off hubby until the last 300m - chuffed!

Short changed a little as track being painted, but hip/ITB/glute etc appreciated it. Didn't enjoy this part one iota.

"Aerial pilates". Not the thing if you actually want to do any pilates. More like trapeze messing about. Managed to last half a class but couldn't call any of it pilates. Beach fun calling.

Release and unwind. i.e. foam roller and tennis ball class. Lots of pain in lots of places. Excellent.

Another window for a MTB with hubby. South along the coast then up to top of Tinajo and back over the top of the ridge/banana plantation. Avoided tricky single track today - quads too tired!

There was me thinking that my h/s and piriformis are the main problems but physio suggested it might be the poxy but very tight TFL. Reassured that doing the right strengthening, stretching, foam rollering etc.
