Orienteering 54:33 [5] 5.4 km (10:06 / km)

Oostelbeersche Heide
Took my red pen to draw on north lines, but no need! Yesterday was a mistake apparently. Start official had some spare control descriptions especially for muppets who don't read the non-existent details, but I learnt my lesson yesterday. (Shame Jase didn't!)
Straight into vague low visibility stuff, and dropped a couple of mins at both no 3 and 4. I'm going to partly blame the map which was 10 years old! Extremely annoyed but pulled myself together. Kept seeing a couple of M55s which helped keep the spirits up. 3 min lead today meant an overall win, woo!

Trail/Road running 15:00 [3]

To start

Orienteering 46:35 [5] 5.1 km (9:08 / km)

Straatsche Heide
After the control description faff, discovered on starting that there were no north lines on the map. Needed quite a few accurate bearings so had multiple stops unfolding the map to find an edge. A few tricky controls, esp with big sandy tracks all over the place - I never did work out the difference between a sandy track (mapped as the sand polygon) vs sandy track (mapped as the usual track line symbol). Did actually get back in time to let Jase make the last start.

9 secs down but overall the top 3 were all in the same minute. Glad there was no chasing start this time.

Trail/Road running 25:00 [3]

Got to the start to discover control descriptions were back at CC, and there were none on the map. Unnecessary 1.8km extra warm up :-(

Note

Kinder-O was hunt the controls/score in a fantastic play park. Brilliant

Orienteering 27:34 [5] 3.8 km (7:15 / km)

Brabante 3 days, Eindhoven, Holland
"Sprint" race at Oirschot Barracks. Hard to make mistakes at the speed I go - just concentrated on control flow. 3 mins down.

Orienteering 53:31 [5] 6.4 km (8:22 / km)

Kattevenia
Chasing start. Set off 14 secs behind 2nd and a few mins behind 1st. Unfortunately it was a round the path type course/area (point feature controls in the middle of blocks of wood), and my poor body wasn't up to a 'race'. Very pleased with 3rd overall and managing to run for 3 days in a row. Couldn't have done this day without the crèche, seeing as hubby started the same minute. Bar, cafe, showers & crèche....brilliant event.

Trail/Road running 5 [3]

First day not had to dash for start. Didn't know what to do with myself!
