British MTBO Long Champs Part 2 - Mabie
Had another great ride - much more physically and technically demanding with lots of route choice. Despite mapping, planning and organising here twice before (2008 and 2010) I didn't feel I had any advantage. Bike survived the bike-eating trails and I finished with a similar time to the Super Vets again.....if I hadn't missed out no 13, doh! Very faint overprint and a straight line 12 to 14 are possible excuses, but had a great time anyhow, they gave me the ladies' prize (but not trophy/title obviously!) and the kids loved Mabie Farm Park. Fab wkd.

British MTBO Long Champs Part 1 - Dalbeattie
Very strange to be racing this having mapped, planned and organised in 2008. A very enjoyable belt round the tracks on my very well-rested mtb, followed by fish & chips and camping by the sea. Great family fun.

"Long lunch hour" (ahem) paddle on Loch Tay with Heather to make sure we can go in a straight line. We can.

Tried to go OWS after but starting off with frozen fingers wasn't great - as cold as the sea, brrrr. Hope it warms up in the next 4 weeks or the swim is going to be scary/dangerous/energy sapping.
