Early start again! I can manage nav like this - look up, see what features are what, pin point where you're going and go. Pretty hard work through the marram grass after yesterday but managed to keep it going the whole time. Got in a bit of a train 2/3 round but the fast ones ran off the front leaving me to lead the slower ones! Chuffed to have survived the weekend physically!
IOF seeding meant that I was out very early! By no 4 I was utterly hacked off with myself (have now finally accepted, after a pretty pants season navigationally, that I can't orienteer any more!). So took a really safe path/round route to 7 and managed to mentally start again. Things went ok from then on. After the spectator/3rd epic hill climb quite enjoyed the painful/tired legs and nav was pretty good. Shame to have wasted so much time in the first 4 controls (especially no 2 - maybe 5+ mins as did have a good route, just terrible execution (via no 5!)) given that the rest was ok/fun - 103-105 mins would have been better!!
Gloriously sunny autumnal day mtbing around the red route at Anagach with hubby, then up to Revack cafe. Proper holiday stuff! H on the back so nothing too extreme!
Training with Halden!! Anagach O - doing the night o course that hubby did Tuesday night. Kept crossing over trains of Halden et al elites racing through the heather - quite intimidating the first time! Run there and back too.
Up to Revack viewpoint via the beep beep trail previously done in the morning with the kids. Shins and knees a bit tired still from the weekend's pounding.
