Ok, so I'm not ok. Left side of ribs went into total spasm overnight (probably more to do with having a 2 year old than the bike ride yesterday). Couldn't breath without being stabbed in the ribs, let along move, and heaps of referred pain everywhere due to being tense. Poor hubby trying (and failing) to find hardcore painkillers at 0830 in the morning on a Sunday in Aberdeen, before sprinting for the CSCup start. M was a star in helping me with H, especially lifting her on to the toilet! Thanks to Brad and Gordon for the supply of knock-outs to get me round the string course and back home.
Feeling surprisingly ok in the legs, so thought I'd get back on the (different) bike and see how I was. Sedate to Braco and mind playing games, but feeling ok, so did the Machany Rd - Auchterarder loop and back. Auchterarder to Braco is such a great road!! Nice and steady, and no hills because my left hand/arm wasn't so good at holding on.
To work...except I never made it. Somehow managed to fly over my handlebars outside the Comm College and crash onto my head/shoulder. Ambulance to A&E, X-rays, gluing of chin back on and lots of painkillers. Soooo lucky not to have broken anything (except my Garmin screen), although totally beaten up and sore. Very appreciative of the wonderful care from passers-by and the NHS, and of course at home.
Home from work via the Logie Kirk hill climb / Sheriffmuir Inn. It's a tad steep! Birds of prey, deer and no cars, not a bad route! And a bonus tonight - the lesser-spotted running Beccy :-)
A Broxden traffic jam meant childcare changeover was late and I missed OHR, which was no bad thing given I didn't know how my h/s would be. Did a loop of the loch to test it out and then joined the ladies.
