warm up to the start of the training

did a head to head middle training session...had 2 middle loops. I went with Imogene and we did opposite loops...it was in all the felled tree part near potluck...i was pretty useless at running through all of it, and funny niggles started to flair up a bit :/ navigation was ok...bit average in places though...

just went for a jog around the sand dunes and did a bit of map reading and the last 2 controls of the 2nd training...ran out to the beach and checked it out too :P
Didn't want to do the next training, as I felt like the first one was enough for me, and I was not keen to go back into the crap stuff...my body was a lot more happy with me running on some even ground :)

when i started running today, my legs just felt so tight, but not like i need to stretch them, it felt like they were expanding :/ was quite hard to get them moving for a while...also had a really really loud water belly which was so annoying! so overall not the greatest feeling today training :S

10x30sec hill reps with 1min recovery back down the hill...was so tough! Have realised im a lot less strong and fast as i was last time i did them on the mt eden track...when i was at home, i did 30sec with 90sec recoveries so this was a bit tougher, and a bit steeper...wasn't too bad though when doing them despite all the other factors :/

6x(500,300) with 90sec recoveries after 500s and 60sec after 300m...was ok for first few, then lings couldnt handle the intensity! Really not used to it...so lagged a bit :S also muscles quite tight atm and niggly pains in knees etc...note to self, need to stretch!!

Orienteering at Beautiful hills...
Was rather steep, slippery and green!! Made a few small errors here and there and lost 2min to #7...got a bit stuck in the cutty grass...other than that it was just ok i guess...good to do something a bit different than just fast woodhill :P

long training in woodhill...cut off a few of the loopy sections as it was a super long training for James...no controls, so had to really be sure i was navigating well into the control circle...seemed to feel a lot more used to running in terrain today which was good...a few little fluff ups and confusion on one of my last ones, but overall i was pretty happy with it :)

just a run around the domain and looped quite a bit...actually warmed up and felt quite good...still a bit tight and tired from tues and wed sessions...so nice running in the sun on the grass, so i did a few laps of the field :P
Wore orthotics today and yesterday...seem all good :)

ran to one tree hill with James and Duncan for the summer series...was pouring down!!

Did course 1 at the last summer nav event... was quite steep in places and fast running! tough as it was sooo slippery! Was really fun though :) Didnt make any mistakes...maybe a few silly route choices...sooo many fences to climb over though!! gah!

Pyramid in the domain with the clan :)
2x200m with 30sec recoveries, 2x500m with 1min recoveries, 1x1km with 3min rec, 1x2km with 4min rec, 1x1km with 3min rec, 2x500m with 1min recoveries, 1x200m....
well actually did a bit less as stopped when the boys stopped so we had same recoveries... was actually quite good...my foot didnt hurt too much during the intervals although could feel it on the recoveries and even after...but not too bad :/
stayed with Laura pretty much for all of them...was quite a tough session

oh wow...so i took rather long on this course today :P
It was out at Waiuku, and the boys somehow convinced me to do the long one...i really should have done the shorter one, it was just really physical, and after a long training yesterday, i really struggled...to make matters worse, i made huge mistakes too which was so silly...the map was rather dodgy which put me off a lot!!
towards the end i was just walking quite a bit which was bad :/ although was determined to actually finish unlike a lazy bum i will not mention the name of :P

warm up 20min mostly through terrain to the start of the training

20min warm down running/jogging/walking up the road out of the forest....was so smashed so did a bit of walking every now and then :P

Did a Long training out at Woodhill...
was really fun :) made a few silly mistakes, but nothing too major... got quite tired on the last loop...so was rather slow :P
We had a loops bit in the tricky mushroom road part, and I always stuff this area up...so i told myself to concentrate and slow down if i have to and it worked...there were a few hesitations, but nothing too silly :)
Overall fun session! Haven't done one like this in such a long time!! Was soooo smashed after!! :P
Oh and Greg is awesome for putting out TP controls before we ran :D

10x2min hill intervals with 1min recoveries...did these around the road looping around mt eden...have done these last yr a few times...definitely a lot slower...but find they are good intervals :)
Foot ok, although feel the pain after I have finished training :/

only did 5min warm up before the sprint at Dio School as didnt have much time as were a bit late...
then just did a short 11min jog when we got to Ellerslie... was planning to do longer but the guys gave up and came back... :(

Did the schools sprint race at Dio and dillworth...was a fun map and a good course :) although...i did pretty crappy :( made a few shabby exit directions and then stuffed up quite a few in the last loop and no. 15 really bad!! dont know what my head was doing :( oh well...good to learn i guess :/

Did a 3km tempo thingy in the Domain with greta...we went up a few hills in the domain at the start and at the end...so was tough! was a bit behind grets...but i sort of knew that would be the case :P blisters were ok which was good :) foot not sore, but uncomfortable sort of... :/ felt pretty smashed as havnt done much of this in a long time...but it was actually really good for me :) cant wait to (hopefully) do some more fast sessions :D Good fun training with Greta!

went for a run with Duncan and James...went through the Domain and some parks...Blisters were blimmin sore, but could sort of run through which was good...although part way through my feet went a bit run because i was running different because of the blisters and i think i tied my shoes a bit too tight :/ it actually felt soo weird and kind of painful, so I was quite slow for the others in the end :/ Also James took us through Newmarket park to explore...turns out they havnt finished it, and we went through so much mud!! My shoes felt like bricks afterwards and the mud wouldnt come off...good strength training i guess :P worst thing was is that my new running shoes are no longer shiny white!! :(
despite all the weird pains, felt alright physically...wish I could have run same pace at the end tho :/

started off running to no. 1, but i just couldnt, so i jogged downhills and some flat and had to walk up hills...it hurt so blimmin much!!
So I decided to cut a huge part of the middle of the course out and just jog/walk it just to get some orienteering in...but the blisters were screaming at me just a bit :/ dammit!

Katoa Po pre event.. I started out ok...made a little mistake at 3 and 5...but then 6 was terrible...lost so much time...so just kept going for the rest...so overall quite bad, although havnt orienteered in a long time so guess i was a bit rusty..and the fitness level may have held me back too

Katoa Po night relays...I ran 5th leg for the HB 7 man team...we went out in 2nd quite a bit behind...I managed to catch up a little bit of time, but never saw anyone in front or behind me...
I usually hate night orienteering, but i used duncans head lamp and it was so fun!! really enjoyed the race and the map... :) made quite a few errors...but nothing too massive

didnt warm up which was bad...didnt warm down either...very bad :S stretched etc to keep warm before start and at end tho

Tried to run without the orthotics today to see how the legs were...they obviously were still sore from the last wk...but they didnt get worse and wernt too bad..so maybe it is the change in mechanics or whatever...maybe i should gradually get used to them :P oops...hope legs feel better soon...they still quite tender, esp on the down hills...
went up and around mt eden...then through epsom campus and around kate shephard park, then round the streets...back around the tracks on mt eden and a loop on the tracks at the bottom and home...such a beautiful day!

tried to take it really easy on a run...felt much better and was beginning to feel ok to run...stretched once i got to the domain...but then about 20-25min through, both legs started feeling really sore and quite strained...i kept getting slower and slower...it hurt quite a bit :/
Now that both legs are sore, I sort of feel like it could be my orthotics...guess its changing how my legs are working...hmm...what to do...I will talk to my podiatrist about it :P its annoying coz the foot is feeling awesome with the orthotics, but not the legs :/

ok so the quad/itb thing still sore...just rested it again..and also ate a huge load of food...which is not good when i cant train :( grr...just want everything to be ok!!

fml...tried to go out the door, but quad must be a little strained from the other day at the summer series...i didnt even run fast? may have been when i twisted my ankle...may have pulled something funny?... it just hurt too much, so went back inside all depressed :( was supposed to do a long run...i am sick of resting...maybe something is telling me to not run? maybe i should have a year off oing and running or something...i just dont know anymore...grr
