The plan was to take this week easy and listen to the body, and I have felt like it has gone really well. Decided to rest after work, and was rather tired too.
I made two dinner pies for our girls dinner tomorrow night instead.

Felt pretty ok! Bit tiring in the beginning but the body is waking up, yay!

Went for a very very easy run with Rassmus to test out the (our) bodies after being so ill. Felt ok apart from the extreme tightness and pain in my lower back still :(
Rather tired towards the end, but it was nice to go slow. Incredibly warm spring day! Ran in a t-shirt! 19 degrees!

Not really any fever anymore. Feeling a bit better because of it, but still not that great and still have a sore back. Still home from work.

Decided that I definitely will not be able to run Danish Spring this weekend :'(
I am so so guttered! I have had what feels like a great winter of training and I was really looking forward to seeing how that would match up with racing! Also pretty guttering that they were my WOC trials and World Games... No chance at World Games now as the team will be picked after the weekend, but I will do the Swedish League races in Blekinge (long-WRE and middle) so that they can at least look at them.
Meh...pretty annoyed as haven't really been sick all winter! Thats life I guess and it's important that I recover well now.

Went to the Dr.s to see if it was Pneumonia (Rassmus currently has this), but of course I can't just catch it, so they said it seems like a virus, maybe the flu. In bed all day feeling sorry for myself...

So was supposed to intervals this evening, but I felt so strange in my chest and feeling generally tired...will see how I feel tomorrow, but the plan is intervals in the morning followed by strength Monday, intervals Tuesday, Jog Wednesday and some short intervals with a jog on Thursday before going to Denmark

Rassmus set me a 'shortish' middle in Nåsten in the nicer parts to get my confidence back up with the technical side of things.
Bit of time lost to the first control and before the 'spectator run through', but other than that it was pretty stable and felt good. Definitely helped with building my confidence before next weekend.

4x6min intervals with 3min recoveries with the club tonight. First one felt ok and managed to hold under 4min/km, but on the rest I could feel my right calf/hamstring getting rather tight...not painful but just uncomfortable. 3rd and 4th one had a little bit of uphill and gradual uphill as we ran up Norbyvägen. Also got a bit tireder as the intervals went on. But a nice session to do as it feels so short with just 4 intervals.

Very messy on my navigation tonight. Even though I told myself I was really going to focus and slow down when I was unsure. A lot of silly mistakes and some dumb compass errors...
Losing a bit of confidence in my orienteering at the moment, which is not good for Danish Spring next weekend... :/
Will try get out for some fast O intervals and maybe a focussing middle distance in the weekend.
I know I have had a lot on my mind recently and been a little busy, but I hope once that settles I will be able to focus a bit better on the technique part of orienteering a bit more.
Felt rather clumpy when running. Tripping over a lot of things and not finding a real flow...

Sprint intervals around Valsätra. Turned out to only be Nelly, Elin, Johanna, Hilda and myself this morning. But kind of glad as it would have been boring if it was just guys and me.
Was super fun to run fast and keep up with the orienteering! Need to do more sprint intervals once all this ice has melted! We all managed to try out different route choices on many of the intervals which made it fun to discuss afterwards.
Managed to keep up with them for most of the time but would finish maybe max 5sec after them on most of the intervals!
Good way to wake the body up in the morning :)

Sprint down in Luthagen/Övre slott area. Was super fun! Had to really read the entire time! A lot of controls and some quick decisions having to be made often!
Felt much better than the mornings training which was great!
No mistakes, just a few hesitations but otherwise pretty happy with the navigation! Maybe could have taken a few better route choices although it was hard to see whens the lines weren't cut or the numbers were covering something, but it was the same for everyone.

Did a lot of foam rolling after the first training so I think this helped the body feeling a little better :)

Had a 10mila test training today out at Sigtuna.

What can I say...not the best day out in the forest. I know that this is sort of the first hard race/training of the season and it really felt like I had no flow whatsoever.
Turns out I got the boys first control as I miss punched anyway. They were both very close to the start triangle and both on a small knoll on a hill...I guess the start triangle being where we started threw me off a bit and I never saw the small track that I should've run up...

Messed up 2 quite badly (clearly because I got the wrong number 1). Messed up 3 even more...
5 and 8 not so great either...

The rest was just so so...small mistakes here and there and just general tiredness probably from stressing about trying to catch up some of that time I lost. Got so exhausted by running in the snow (even though there wasn't too much today, especially compared to Wednesday). Can see that my heart rate was also rather high... I'm going to blame the snow for this...but maybe it is something else?

I guess I have to analyse this training and move on, but it just feels so depressing when training is going good and I know I can be much more focussed and faster... need to pull it together for my WOC trials at Danish Spring in 2 weeks... :/

Wanted to get out in the afternoon sun whilst it lasts. Was sooo nice! A bit icy in the shady spots, but nice and warm in the sunny spots.
Was a bit colder in the end of the run, but it was just so nice to be out! Took my music too which helped the mood. Feeling much better both mentally and physically than this morning :)

Did 4xhill intervals tonight on the castle. I had told myself before I ran that I would only do 4 because of the calf being so tight. It was pretty tight, but not too bad on the intervals, only in the beginning when it was super slushy and I was slipping a bit. Bit slow on the part, but felt strong once we hit the road and there was no snow there, just a bit of gravel. I don't know what it is, but I always find this extra gear when I come onto the road with these intervals? Maybe the gradient is perfect for my uphill running style haha. Felt like I could close up the gap a bit more on Hilda and Ruairi.
Actually felt kind of physically tired tonight, so was good I didn't push it and do more.

Tisdagsbana Å. Probably my last one of the winter training as I am on soup duty next week and it's the last one before we switch to intervals on Tuesdays. Of course I will try and do some tisdagsbanor if I can get the chance some weeks, but it's not the same not doing them on a Tuesday without a big group.
Tonight we ran a bit easier in the beginning, then it got a bit harder on the bigger tracks trying to follow the guys. After we jumped off from the guys train it was just Hilda, Lisa, Johanna, Stan and I. Went ok tonight despite it snowing all day.

Nice long slow run on small trails in Nåsten with Annika, Sam and Ross. Beautiful day with sun, snow and of course great company!
Foot ok. Calf still tight. Wore compression socks which seemed to help/feel good.
Made a yummy lunch/brunch together and watched the skiing afterwards.

It snowed quite a bit overnight. Everything was covered, but it wasn't too deep which was good, but still made it tough to run!
Physically felt pretty strong, but couldn't really get my head around the orienteering part today haha. At times it was fine, but other times I was losing concentration. It was good to do this as I now know I need to do a bit more of these over the next few weeks!

Warm up plus some drills. Really busy and tough day at work, and feeling rather tired tonight. Was only Ross and I and then another guy showed up. Another poor turn out for intervals...hope more people come soon to intervals as I need that extra push of people being around!

Intervals
5x3min, 3x1min, 5x3min.
All with 1min recoveries and an extra 1min between the sets.
Bit of tired muscles from strength yesterday, but almost felt a bit strong from it. Right leg still a bit funny and tight just like last week. On the 3rd 3min I felt something really hurt in my right foot, and I know it was coming from my tight calf/achilles region...limped a bit whilst trying to keep on running fast. Seemed to ease up on the next few intervals, but tried to be careful.
The loop we do has a few turns and up and downs in the track which is a nice variation to flat straight roads :)

Didn't think I'd do them all, but felt strong (apart from the niggly muscle), so decided to just keep going and finish them :)
