Orienteering 1:18:15 [3]
shoes: X-Talons 212

Running the Rapukartanorastit race near Jämsä as another training for the weekend. Garmin died so only had the time. Was ok...super super tired and was walking and jogging a lot! Made a big mistake of 2min at no.1 and then another at no.11. Was super tough and demanding terrain but was kind of fun! hot day for it too!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: X-Talons 212

about 10min warm up and about 10min of warming down once by myself and the rest with ross when he finished
3 PM

Orienteering 50:00 [3]
shoes: X-Talons 212

afternoon training on a small middle that Johan set. Was mostly through green bits and some more green that wasnt really mapped, so a lot of walking went on. Was just really good to get out on another map in Jämsä before the short weekend was up! Jogged/walked with Ross S as we were both rather pooped!

Orienteering 1:10:02 [3] 7.37 km (9:30 / km)
shoes: X-Talons 212

In Finland for a Jukola training camp with the club! Went to the first map in Jämsä and drew up around a 6km loop for the mornings training.
Was a really hot day which was nice for a change! Didnt really sleep last night as was on the boat and had to get up about 4.45am swedish time! Then we drove 3hrs to get to where we were staying/training. Just felt like a big lump trying to run around :P falling over a lot too! Was interesting to see the mapping style in this area! A lot lot more detail left off than compared to bumpy ol' Uppsala.
4 PM

Orienteering 52:24 [3] 6.2 km (8:27 / km)
shoes: X-Talons 212

Jukola training. We started at random intervals and had forking to simulate Jukola/Venla racing. Felt so so much better than the mornings training and could actually run through most of the tough stuff and up the hills! Still not a fast pace, but was good for me with orienteering well :)
includes some jog before and some after

Running 30:40 [2] 5.56 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: Aasics 2000 series

recovery jog in the morning. well midday :P feel actually fine from yesterday...maybe should have tried to push a bit harder ;)
6 PM

Orienteering 1:33:22 [3] 10.03 km (9:19 / km)
shoes: X-Talons 212

Running in Lunsen. Was just going a training pace and was wanting to concentrate a lot on the reading part. A few funny things here and there but still mostly in control. Then...when we had the bottom part of the map blanked out with only a few contours showing (shows complete map on map file) I totally lost control :P
First one in there was not so good, but recovered, the next was slow but fine, and then I just had no focus on my compass or wasnt even ticking off the 2 or 3 contours that were on the way...decided I had to bail and run back north again, but had no idea where on this blimmin Lunsen map I was...so there was a lot of stopping and jogging and minor freak outs until I hit the main track :P So just ran 12, 13 and finished after the nightmare ;)
Fun training still! Lots of mosquitoes...yay summer :(

Running race 20:26 [5] 5.0 km (4:05 / km) +45m 3:55 / km
shoes: Saucony fastwitch red

Ran a 5km race to promote the Ekebyloppet race in a few weeks. Was sort of just an "ok that could be fun" kind of thing. Didn't really prepare for it and used it as a good speed session :)
There were tonnes of people which was pretty cool! Went gradually up for the first 2km, then down a few 100 meters, then back along the flat. Tough course and died a lot on the way back where my pace was dropping quite a bit!
am ok with the time...was not flash or anything, although definitely not an 18.35 from 2 years ago before my last JWOC :/ At least since I have been in Sweden I am a bit stronger in the forest, which is a good thing :) Speed will come back in no time!

Running warm up/down 7:37 [2] 1.02 km (7:29 / km)
shoes: Saucony fastwitch red

should have done more warm down but was talking to much afterwards and then I had to hand out fliers about Ekebyloppet. Good that I had a bike ride home after :)

Running warm up/down 16:09 [3] 2.77 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Saucony fastwitch red

Warm up with Albin, Elisa and Lisa before the race. Feeling ok I guess..
