Skiing long (skate) 1:16:53 [3] 11.03 km (6:58 / km)

So I decided to just give skate a go today. Was hoping I could at least remember how to do it from yesterdays tutorial from Sara. So headed out alone just to see how it goes. Took a while to get into it and the muscles are super stiff and sore! can't lift up my legs!!
Once I got into it I went around the hund och pulka track (6km) and then backwards around it once I decided to ski a bit with Camilla...well she was on her classic skis, so had to wait a bit at times...in the end I decided just to keep on skating with the rhythm I had :)
Felt good! Am actually ok/confident at downhill and turning and shifting the skis when balancing etc now! Yay they dont feel so foreign on my feet! Major improvement when I think back to just Thursday evening! haha I thought I would never be able to ski ;)
Stopped many times as met a lot of people out on the tracks! So fun! Think I was bad at starting and stopping my watch today too...so maybe the times and distances are not so accurate either, but its rough.

Camilla and I decided to ski together today. I warned her I was not so good...seemed to be ok on the longer bits, but my technique and stability let me down a bit on the corners and downhill ;)
We talked a lot and stopped a few times both to see the world cup Orienteer skiers zoom past and to discuss how to actually ski etc. Think I forgot to start or stop my watch a few times, so not sure how long I actually skied for? We skied down to the shop to buy a day pass for the tracks, then we skied to the arena, then the pulka och hund track which was about 6km and then the halvmilen (5km). Seemed to go much better today! Getting more and more confidence! Found it so fun! and cool to have company too!
skied all the way back up the small slalom hill too :) Good practicing!

Sara said she could help me with learning to skate today, so we headed out to the arena to learn. I managed to pick it up pretty quick...much quicker than when Rassmus tried to teach me. It was really hard but so fun when I managed to do it! We tried many different ways of learning the style and technique etc. Watched Anna for a bit so I could see how you put your weight on each ski etc. Afterwards she made me skate all the way up the hill and even the slalom hill! We got half way up the steep one and I was getting too scared and worried that I would slip and slide back down so I took the skis off and walked the rest.
Was si thankful that Sara helped me as I really got it this time and found it so fun!
Legs are super sore from classic skiing and I cant put on my pants and socks very easily! ouch!

Tried to figure out how to do classic skiing. Was really tough! still feel wobbly and cant turn or go down hills very well... just kept going and going as I wanted to get the hang of it! started to feel the grip and know how to go up hill etc so that was cool! still rather terrible and all the old grandmas were passing me haha

went down to the arena as we had planned a relay between some of us Linne people. I was going to join in, then I realised I didnt have enough confidence to...we went around the 1km track first as a group, and Lisa C and Rebecka helped me out a bit with a few tips on how to classic ski! it really helped! I understood a lot more and felt a lot more confident! was fun! SO decided to do one lap in the beginning of the relay! was super slow, but fun anyway! After I just skied around a bit on the same track and cheering everyone on a bit...
After the relay Sara and I decided to go back up to the cabin. She made me ski all the way up the small slalom hill! was good as I really got the hang of it! Tough training up the hill though!

Up in Orsa. Decided to try out a bit of skate as I had never tried this before. Had a lot of difficulty as we were living up the top of the slalom hill and everyone just skied down. Was not so easy for me as skis feel so foreign to me! Rassmus decided to stay and help me for a bit but I just couldnt get it! Was -22 degrees so I told him to do his training as we were freezing. Kept trying and still found it hard so double poled around a lot just so i could keep warm! Hopefully classic skiing will be better 2mw.

Decided it was a good idea to rest today, even though the sun is shining!
I have work at school, then nannying, then tutoring and then Rassmus and I are driving up to Sater late.
Ski camp tomorrow! woohoo

Long tisdagsbana. Did the 11.7km...seems so much longer when there is snow!! Was a bit tired today as was away from the house from 8am till training. Lots of working. Was pretty dead in the end, but had nice company of Sam A, Jenny and Marketa :)

No warm down. Too tired after an unexpected long day but not feeling the weird tiredness from yesterday :)
