Today, instead of my "regular" route, I went up to the top of Mt. Josephine. This involved less running and more panting than might have been ideal, but I did manage to do most of the uphills at at least a jog. It's a 4 instead of a 5 because I had to stop for the view (of course), and going down wasn't really a workout (except for the knees).

This morning I ran. Hard.

I did a mile down the road, then a lighter jog back along the flat part of the Mt. Josephine trail, then about 10 minutes of steep hill sprints.

I'm back, finally.

Today I stopped on my way home from a weekend trip (my weekend is actually Mon/Tues) at CR Magney State Park, and did a nice hard run. It should have been longer, but I was anxious to get home. The scenery was pretty cool though. At one of two waterfalls, the Brule River, which the trail follows, splits around a rock, whereupon half of it falls 25 feet into a pool below and half falls into a giant kettle and disappears forever (or so the legends say). I'll tell ya, I may not have O events to go to every weekend, but I sure have the landscape to make up for it.
