The first selection race this year... and my second proper event 2008!
This area was sooooo different to anywhere I have ever been before!!!Couldn't find the first control. The path looked like all the other rides and I ran straight past it. Then didn't really know what a rootstock was supposed to be... some tree roots! A very strange feature but I found it eventually! The rest of the course was ok but a bit scrappy as it was really hard to find attack points for a lot of the controls so it felt a bit 'run and hope'ish for a few controls. I also lost time on number 9 because for some reason I thought an area of green looked like it might be scattered trees so I ran all the way up the side of the valley and back down again for no reason! Oh well at least next time I go down to another area like it I (hopefully) will know what to expect and won't make the same mistakes!
