Running (Evergreen, Kilo, Redondo) 1:43:00 [3] 14.7 mi (7:00 / mi)
slept:8.0

Glutes are sore and right ischium aches. I felt tired but not as bad as I thought I would feel today. Ran new Redondo Loop with TJ in about 58min. When I ran home from TJ after standing around for awhile, my ischium hurt a lot.

Walking (to TJ & back) 45:00 [1] 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Running (O @ Salmon La Sac) 2:30:00 [3] 5.0 mi (30:00 / mi)
slept:10.0

Long event (10.9k, 550m elevation gain). I did the first 3 controls then had a hard time finding #4. I probably would have had the fastest split to #4 but there were no knolls on both sides of the trail by the cliff that I was going to use as a reference to cut in. I never found #5. When I saw that #7 was clear across the woods about a mile I gave up and slowly made my way out to a trail. I ran back to the start and punched a few controls along the way, including the last one just to get the fastest split. Basically, I never want to do this on a 1:15000 map ever again. There is so much shit on the map and it is so small that I don't know what the hell I am looking most of the time.

Running (O @ Salmon La Sac) 4:00:00 [3] 6.5 mi (36:55 / mi)
slept:7.0

Middle distance event (4.8k). I spent about 1hr on one control. I was right by it the whole time but could not see it. I was confused by the cliffs. Pretty much my worst time orienteering ever. It was not fun and I was pissed off to the power of shit. I was using the compass very closely but still managed to be about 50 meters off of my target. I could not run, let alone walk with all the brush and uneven terrain. I don't know how the hell the winner finished in about 41min. I am almost positive that I punched control #6 but it said that I missed punched at the finish. Anyways, I no longer feel competent to coach orienteering after today's experience.

Running (O @ Salmon La Sac) 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 mi (8:34 / mi)
slept:9.5

Went for an off road bike ride. It was pretty cool. Orienteering Sprint event at 7pm (2.8k). It was fun but I spent 7 minutes on the 4th control because I ran right past it and started going in circles. Then I picked up some controls in the end. Then I went out to look for Reid later who was also picking up controls.

Running (Orienteering @ Lick Creek) 50:00 [3] 5.5 mi (9:05 / mi)
slept:8.0

Ran the 4th leg of this relay (4.1k, 180m elevation gain). Used a compass for the first time and did not get lost. I just went very slowly because I am not used to traveling through this type of terrain. I did some running around before and afterwards as well as a small hike.

Running (Lake Youngs via Kentridge) 1:14:10 [3] 10.7 mi (6:56 / mi)
slept:9.5

Ate a couple burritos for lunch. Ran after 6pm. Felt the burritos in my stomach but they never bothered me much. Legs are still a little tight but not too bad. I tried to do strides afterward on the trail but my legs felt pooped.

Running (Weyerhaeuser) 1:46:10 [3] 15.0 mi (7:05 / mi)
slept:10.0

Ran to Weyerhaeuser, perimeter loop, then by lake, back home. Ran with TJ. Nothing hurt and legs are starting to loosen back up.

Cycling (Orting) 1:40:00 [1] 24.0 mi (4:10 / mi)

Running (Tuesday Loop) 1:05:00 [2] 8.9 mi (7:18 / mi)
slept:6.8

Woke up around 4am and got up at 5am. Ran at 7am. My first mile was about 8:30 and I could tell that my legs were not going to loosen up much on this run. I actually felt pretty good despite my stiff legs. My back (lower left side) started aching when I was setting up for the obstacle course at TJ (first day of practice). My legs felt heavy as I ran home, probably from standing around at practice.

Running (Milton Loop) 2:06:40 [3] 18.5 mi (6:51 / mi)
slept:11.5

Ran to the end of Military and down the trail to Milton. Came back on road before I-5 along Wild Waves. Left on 28th Ave and through Weyerhaeuser Way. Back via Kilo. I did not feel too great at the start. My legs were tired but that was about it. I quickly got bored and then my energy level seemed to plummet when I got to the end of Military. Coming back was not fun. I was suddenly reminded of my days as a wrestler at TJ, running in circles in the lower gym with the heat cranked up. I started thinking about Safeway Select fruit flavored soda (Grape, Strawberry, Orange, Lime, even Watermelon ...which they don't have). I wanted so desperately to be done. So I started focusing on my body. Yes my legs were tired and sore. But they were not in pain. I was just thirsty and bored from the long straightaways. I don't know why I was thirsty because my pee was clear before heading out the door.

Running (Tuesday Loop + Military) 1:01:20 [3] 9.05 mi (6:47 / mi)
slept:9.9

Legs are tired. Ran ~8:30 the first mile. Some kid on a skateboard tried to stay in front of me from Evergreen Elementary all the way down 56th Ave. I stayed with him until we came to a hill and he had to walk. I kept my effort easy the whole time and focused on keeping good form. I noticed that my pace seemed fast for the effort. I hope this means that I am getting faster.

Running (FW McD's & Weyerhaeuser) 1:32:00 [3] 13.55 mi (6:47 / mi)
slept:10.0

Legs felt a little tired from all the running I've been doing lately so I took it easy. I wasn't planning on doing anything but running for however long I felt like. I think I may have done a little too much but at least it was easy. I did 4x 55-70m hard around the block on 300th. Then I walked to Meredith Hill and was going to do a couple strides but I only did 1 because my legs felt dead.

Walking (neighborhood) 40:00 [1] 2.5 mi (16:00 / mi)

Running (Saltwater Loop) 1:27:30 [3] 13.4 mi (6:32 / mi)
slept:9.8

I was bored this morning so I was looking forward to an "adventure" run. I did not like all the sidewalk & pavement but the little trail at Saltwater State Park was welcoming, even though it was overgrown. I rolled my left ankle a little while trying to avoid a sticker bush; so I flipped off the trail gods and kept on going.
