Running (O @ Island Crest Park) 55:00 [3] 7.4 mi (7:26 / mi)
slept:8.5

AM=8min, 1.1mi @ Meredith Hill. Warm-up at meet included short bouts to and from the registration area and then by the main road. Stood in line for nearly a half an hour. I was angry because half the team was already finished before I went. At least it wasn't cold. Now for the rundown. The finger punches/timing system is screwed up. For example, from the last control to the finish, it says I took 30 seconds. It was only about 80 meters long and I ran that in under 10 (I was hauling). At the start, we were going every 2 minutes. The timing says it took me 1:21 to get to the first control. I was holding the map upside down for some reason though. Anyways, when I got to the 2nd control, the guy who started behind me had already caught up! What the hell? It took me 32 seconds to get to the 2nd control. Either he was wearing a jet pack or the timing was off and it really took me longer. I think he wore the jet pack. For the 3rd control, I went through the school and found it easily. Then I got tangled up and backtracked before going to #4. #5 was a problem. I was crawling under some bush and then banged my head when I came up from under a fallen tree. I almost started crying. I found the control even though I wasn't looking at the map. Both 5 & 6 were in the open. When I took off to #7, I was slipping on a hill so I had to slide back down it and get a running start. I ended up going around through some bushes to get up. The guy with the jet pack was coming out from #7 when I arrived there. I caught up to him on the road to #8 as he seemed to have run out of rocket fuel. Little did he know, I had extra bottles of NOS packed away in my gloves. I found #8 after playing in the bushes for a little while and then hid behind a tree while I planned my attack on #9. I took the upper route (although longer) and found it right away. #10 & 11 were in order. This is where I cut my legs. Good thing I started later because the previous runners did a nice job clearing a path. I should do this more often. #12 was a piece of cake. #13 was tricky getting to but easy to find. There was a party over at #14 so I just looked for the best spot to put a control and found it ok. #15 was on the trail but something is wrong with it. It made the faintest beep so I stopped and punched it again. Then I kicked it into some sticker bushes so that nobody could find it. (haha j/k). #16 was just a matter of bringing the mail home...except it was hiding behind the light pole. I didn't want to overshoot anything today so I stopped in front of it and looked around. After walking a little bit, I figured it out and then pwned some lady at the finish. Total time= 30:42. I am estimating that I ran about 3.9mi. The course appeared to be about 2.4mi if measured on tangents. I figured I was running about 5:40 mile pace when I wasn't on my hands and knees and banging my head against trees (it happened more than once). I already forgot how I came up with 3.9 but it was probably less if anything. I give myself a C+ for the meet (24.3 divided by 30.7 = 79%)

Running (Green River Trail & back) 1:24:20 [3] 12.65 mi (6:40 / mi)
slept:9.0

Left Achilles/shin area felt a little more tender than the last couple days during the run. Other than that, everything felt good except for the pavement on my legs.

Walking (neighborhood) 39:00 [1] 2.5 mi (15:36 / mi)

Running (Tuesday & McDonald's Loop) 1:08:30 [3] 10.35 mi (6:37 / mi)
slept:8.0

Legs were a little tired at the start but felt better when I got warmed up. Stomach was bloated until around 320th (~4mi. in). I ate at 6:30am (bagel & oatmeal as usual) and at 10:30am (2 cherry pop tarts) and ran at 11:45am. Still the sand on the road is irritating me.

Walking (neighborhood) 40:00 [1] 2.5 mi (16:00 / mi)

Running (FW area & Weyerhaeuser) 1:50:30 [3] 17.4 mi (6:21 / mi)
slept:9.0

There was a bunch of sand on the sides of the streets which made me feel like I was sanding down the bottom of my shoes. Listened to the same song on repeat (5:43min long) and it made the run go by fast. Legs started feeling tired on Military with about 3-4mi to go.

Walking (Track) 29:00 [1] 2.0 mi (14:30 / mi)

Monday Feb 2, 2009 #

Running (Camelot Loop) 29:30 [2] 4.1 mi (7:12 / mi)
slept:9.0

Tried to run a little faster because I don't like it when I allow myself to run so slow in the morning. This was actually completely effortless.

Sunday Feb 1, 2009 #
