Not quite as ambitious with my route today. Woods, river, observatory hill, Flass vale, Aykley heads. Freezing and miserable - rained the whole time. Wasn’t wearing enough and not moving fast enough to get warm. Winter has arrived.
Lovely walk out over fields to railway path and up hill. Walked hard and off path where I could. Was still dark when I set off :-( but was lovely until…

I realised that I had totally underestimated distance and overestimated my walking speed. So had to run pretty hard (on tracks and road) to get back home in time for Rob to get out with Fin. Wasn’t planning on running on my toe and Achilles again this week, but all seemed to hold up ok. Hoka trainers making a really big difference to toe, although my left Achilles is now niggling (possibly from change of trainers).
Very slow run - low Newton junction, 2 loops of brasside ponds (because path is nice and fun), frankland fram, sewage works, little paths through woods up hill home.
Not quite what I had planned for today, but body not having it - weekend and lack of sleep last night caught up with me. Woods past crook hall, loop of river to elect bridge, round and over prebends, up through Wharton park and Aykley heads. Durham looking very pretty despite the drizzle.
Roundabout route of Aykley heads ending at nursery pick up. Haven’t done much (any) training over the last week, but the kids and I did make it to Czech Republic for a long weekend to see my sister and family! Was lovely, and much easier than I expected paperwork wise - and thankfully nothing went too wrong.
