Running (GWR 8 miler) 1:02:10 [3] 7.43 mi (8:22 / mi)
shoes: Asics - Gel Nimbus 10

Am annoyed. Needed to be in work really early, so drove, wanting to do a long (over 10mile) run tonight. Felt nice and fresh and was enjoying running, until the Portway, where my calf started to hurt. It started to hurt even more up bridge valley road, so decided to be sensible and just stick to 8 miles. Am currently icing it writing this.

This is not good preparation for the Bath half in less than 2 weeks. I have only run over 10 miles twice and not particularly recently. Grrr....

I forgot my orthotics on saturday and ran hard, guess that is what has done it. Stretching and Iceing and massage required. It's all the road running I am having to do at the moment which isn't helping I don't think either.

Orienteering race (BOC Womens Short Relay) 27:44 [5] 3.5 km (7:55 / km) +75m 7:09 / km
shoes: Addidas Swoop

First leg of the Woman's Short and we won :o)

Wasn't overly pleased with my run, brought us in 6th (well 5th really as I had overtaken Christine up the run in, but then couldn't get to a finish punch in time!). Messed up no. 2 stupidly.

What is even more annoying is that Becky Kingdon was doing my course ggrrrrr. She must have managed to get to 2 in record speed and lead me astray on her way to her no. 3... serves me right for getting distracted. Oh well. Much better than last year's JK first leg. Although I find it a bit fast I think I would crumble under pressure going on leg 2 or 3, so i think I'll stay on first leg.

JK Woman's short here we come :o)

Orienteering race (BOC - UK Cup :o)) 59:23 [5] 8.0 km (7:25 / km) +170m 6:43 / km
shoes: Addidas Swoop

Well I didn't come last on my first UK Cup race :o)

Was actually really pleased with this race (only 14mins down on Sarah Rollins...!!! - that's just loads really), but i did make a few bodges.

Looking at the splits, No. 3 a good 2:20 lost, No.13 another minute (stupid hesitation and being distracted), and I can't believe my stupid through the gorse route cost me a whole minute as well, so 4:20 worth of errors according to winsplits....which would have put me up with Abi Weeds, I would have been really very pleased with that!

Pushed hard today, but still ended up walking some of it. I really didn't want to be last and when i caught up Kirsten Fairfax at no. 10, we started racing together which was really cool ;o)

Very busy at work.... 13hrs extra this week, so no time to go home and run, instead I drove straight to pick Tim up before heading to the NF for the BOC :o)

Running (Round the Downs) 27:36 [3] 5.42 km (5:06 / km)

Quick whizz round the downs before comedy club night.... Was quite scarey in the dark - stuck to the pavements the whole way and ran quickly past all the parked cars and bushes....

Cycling (Home Again) 20:00 [3] 3.5 mi (5:43 / mi)

Note

Physio tonight. never been to one like this one.... he cracked 2 vertebrate in my neck and then did 'butterfly' manipulation down my spine which cracked every one bar 2, which are very stiff apparently. In a nut shell, i think my body was all a bit out of line! Feel much better - at the moment anyway! Need to go back though.....
