Running (Commute) 30:30 [2] 6.8 km (4:29 / km)

Read something about junk miles and the need to learn to do gentle little trots every now and again rather than running fairly hard all the time, and this sounded like a warning for my ears especially. So tried doing just that on the way to work this morning - didn't feel right, though. Still, it seems to have shaken a bit of stiffness out of my legs - will see what pace they go at on the return leg.

Cycling (Commute) 28:30 [3] 9.6 km (2:58 / km)

Cycling (Commute) 23:20 [4] 10.15 km (2:18 / km)

That felt good - and despite occasional traffic delays en route...

Running warm up/down 1:00:00 [2]

To and from Meadows for intervals session, strides etc.

Running intervals 15:51 [5] 5.0 km (3:10 / km)

Only one other person to do intervals with tonight, but he turned out to be a bouncing Czech who was well faster than me, so excellent training. Rest periods varied from 60 to 90 secs.

5 x 1k; splits: 3:06, 3:11, 3:13, 3:11, 3:10

Cycling (Commute) 39:00 [2] 11.6 km (3:22 / km)

Monday May 26, 2008 #

Cycling 1:55:00 [3] 38.0 km (3:02 / km)

To climbing wall at Ratho and back, along Union Canal.

Climbing 4:00:00 [1]

Only gets a 1 due to lack of aerobic effort, but definitely good strength training, judging from the stiffness of muscles over the next two days... Still very much a novice at this game, but better to dabble in many things than to risk getting good at any one, I always say.
