A lovely day in the Forest of Dean. I was sweating just from my warm up though and found it too hot to run a lot of the course. The patch of trees on the way to #1 confused me as I expected them to be dark green so the person starting a minute behind caught me up there. #2 took the path rather than bashing through the brambles and nettles but my -1 man was well ahead so I changed tact after that. Mispunched #7, I think I was so knackered from the hill that I imagined the bleep which is annoying. There was a lovely section of bluebells from 15-16, it was nice that I was going so slow I could look at them! Got lots of scratches despite the earlier runners trampling down elephant tracks in parts.

I went for a lovely long along the canal to the first lock at Brynich. Even though I set off at 7pm it was still very hot. I seem to be able to manage 30 mins before really struggling. It was nice to be distracted by people and narrow boats though.
