| Today was the 1. AOC in Bad Fischau near Wiener Neustadt.
Ran in H-21 Long (13,5 km 505 climbing). Gained the 2nd spot! YES. It has been a while since I was on the podium the last time.... I'm really happy with todays run. I managed to do everything like I wanted to do: 1. check every single control number (which was very important today) 2. ALWAYS have a good attack point 3. Suffer! (What I did after I felt the blisters after about 7km) I also went through the thickets and thorns like a masoschist. :) Slogan: Pain is temporary - honor is forever! Got 2 big blisters. One on each heel. I should have run a little bit more with my new o-shoes before this competition. It seems like I can't run tomorrow because of my 2 "friends"..... | Set out most of the controls for tomorrows club-training. It wasn't really running because I walked quite a lot to read the contours very well. Also the forrest changed quite a lot (the map is from 2004) so sometimes it was difficult to find the right position of the control.
All at all my orienteering technique is still not good. :( | ||

| Took part at the 6-hours-run in Wals. Each team consists of 4 members. Unfortunately Hermann left us after 2,5 or 3 hours. Arthur, Stefan an I did the rest of the competition.
Was really tough! I'm happy that I managed to run well at the end to (the last laps were in fact the fastest). I just managed to switch off my brain and just run! Was a good experience. I looking forward to next years competition. | ||

Afterwards I took a look at the places where I want to hang out the controls next week (I'll make the training). Running was not fast. The runnability of the terrain was really exhausting. It was raining (sometimes even snow). So the ground was coverd with a little bit of snow. A lot of mud on the tracks and the swamps. There are still many fallen trees on the ground. Sometimes it was more jumping over trees than running.... Seems like I have to change some controls for next weeks training :) PS: I need MANY, MANY MORE o-trainings. My technique isn't at a high level at the moment. Many mistakes today. | ||
