Weights 1:15:00 [1]

Hit the gym for the usual stuff. Bench press-clap push-ups are feeling good (as in, they hurt), but the deadlifts are starting like they're wearing thin, so I'm going to need to come up with a new exercise. If I'm not sore the next day, probably not worth doing anymore!

Nordic (classic) 4:00:00 [1] 40.0 km (6:00 / km)

Time for an Attackpoint Catchup! The February 20-28 week was not an amazing one for training at Canada Winter Games. Hour long bus rides to and from Halifax, and my blind skier I've been guiding is relatively new to racing. My heart rate typically gets the highest when she's about to ski into a tree. Still, I got a solid amount of skiing one day while testing skis, did 6-7 laps of the 5k course with some training with Megan in the middle, so I was on skis for a very long time and did a lot of skiing. The other days, probably a slow hour at best, even during the race we weren't going overly fast, though I was shouting my face off the entire time. Still, glad to have gone. Got tons of new gear, including a full Halti warm-up set, something I was thinking of getting anyway.

I can also take consolation that I didn't get sick during that entire week! Then again, maybe I spoke to soon...

Orienteering 2:20:00 [4]
shoes: inov-8 Oroc 280

A relatively lengthy workout, involving a WRE and another non-descript exercise. Theoretically there was a gap between the race and the next training, but I was too pissed off from the race to stop, so I just kept on running. First I re-ran the course right away, and stewed on so many, many things, (not just my performance, sometimes it was the economy), and then proceeded to run down to the next exercise, where I ran hard(ish) again, and then kept on running for a while. I was mad. Made me feel my year-long orienteering credibility fell apart in a matter of 18 minutes and 40-ish seconds.

Urge... to kill... rising.....!

Cycling 30:00 [1]

Woke up early enough to get a quick trainer spin in before going to the shop early.

Running 35:00 [1]
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 305

Had some soleus pain from standing up and running around the shop for 8 hours, so run was shorter than anticipated. I guess I could have gone to skiing but I thought I was working to 8PM, so I didn't bring my gear.

Running 50:00 [1]
shoes: inov-8 Oroc 280

Covering at Fast Trax all week, so haven't had quite as much time to get in training. Of course, if I were to just wake up earlier.... short run, I thought it would be longer but apparently I ran too fast.

Note

Played an hour and a half of indoor soccer. Which I still don't really count as training, though I aim to hammer most of the time. Today most of the players had stars in their eyes and hoped to score from far out. Yet aside from Renee who is the other good player, NONE of them were even remotely close to hitting the net. So you'd think they'd stop doing that, but NOOO, if you miss 8 times in a row, then the most logical thing is to try again, because EVENTUALLY you might get it!
