Orienteering 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Orienteering event at Arrow Valley, with a light jog for a warm-up/cooldown to and from the train station.

Saving the fact that the terrain and map and course kinda sucked, I made some stupid errors and missed some obvious route choices. Not exactly a confidence builder . I was testing some new contacts so I suppose I could blame that, but... I doubt it. I'm actually finding myself getting more confused with trails around, the more trails, the less sure of which one to take. Funny, I'm almost at the point where I wish there were less trails instead of more!

Running 50:00 [1]
shoes: Karhu Fast Ride

An easy run around, thinking about whether I should run the parkrun tomorrow or not. My mind says yes yes, but my calves say no no.

Running intervals 1:15:00 [4] 12.19 mi (6:09 / mi)
shoes: Karhu Fast Ride

30 x 15 seconds with 60 seconds rest. Felt kind of slow, but tried to hammer them out anyway. Not quite as difficult as 30-30s, though.

Orienteering 1:35:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony FastTwitch

Wednesday night at Warwick University. First of all, Warwick University's campus is SO nice. So much better than Coventry University's. For realsies, it kind of breaks my heart.

Wasn't feeling super fast in the orienteering, and made some minor route choice mistakes, nor was particularly organized in or out of controls, nor did I consult my control description sheet very well. There was a brief two week lull in the orienteering for a while, and I feel like my orienteering skillz (yes, skillz), has gone out the window, and is now just back to mere skills (far less exciting, and highly questionable). Oh well, soon will be a lot of ludicrously difficult orienteering, so... that'll go well. Or badly. Either way, I'll probably be better after!
