Orienteering 1:30:00 [4]
shoes: Nike Lunaracer

London City Race! I've been psyched about this race for a while, and it mostly lived up to expectations. There wasn't quite as much really confusing multi-level stuff I've seen in previous years, but there was definitely a bit of that, and it was confusing! I ran comfortably hard, made a variety of mistakes and poor route choices, particularly at the end. Technically, it was like a really long sprint, and my concentration clearly deteriorated as time went on. I would love long training exercises like this, I think it'd do a world of good for my skill. My garmin had me having done 15.81km in 57:06, I'm fairly certain Graham did it about 10 minutes faster. Too much junk in the trunk for me!

As always, though, I'm hopeful I can get faster. I WILL get faster. I MUST get faster. Or go crazy. Actually, they're not mutually exclusive.

Note

Still trying to get over the lingering cough. Instead, I was bored. I recalled whats-his-face at okansas saying that Alison was trying for 2000 controls in a year. Out of curiosity, I counted up the controls of the maps I didn't send home, basically all my maps from the start of my Scandanvian adventure until now. And... the verdict?

328!

This doesn't include training maps in Trondheim, which might add another 30 or so? Either way, 2000 now does seem like a lofty goal! I do have plenty of maps since Feb. in UK, but they're all back home, so it'll have to wait for another day.

Running 55:00 [2]
shoes: Karhu Fast Ride

A light run, 'tis all.

Running 30:00 [1]
shoes: Vibram Five Fingers

And a barefoot run in the evening. Landlady said she'd stop by to show the place, so I cleaned up and waited, but she never showed, maybe she meant tomorrow? Either way, now I'm on pins and needles for whenever she shows up, and I hate that.

Running 1:25:00 [1]
shoes: Karhu Fast Ride

A light run in the morniing. Its been a long time since I've been running my usual routes, and, quite frankly, I'm very tired of it. Thank goodness I'm outta here in three weeks.

Running 30:00 [1]
shoes: Vibram Five Fingers

First barefoot run in quite some time, I have emotionally recovered from my rock kicking incident, and so has my toe. Though, at the moment I'm stick with grass and tending to run with a little higher knees with normal.

Lungs feel okay considering the racing, except when I'm just sitting around and I feel a certain shortness of breath. Its odd, so I'm clearly I'm not quite over whatever I had/have/?.
