Orienteering 50:00 [4] 6.0 km (8:20 / km)

In the immortal words of the Nev-Man, "Relays are fun, its a good thing we don't do them more often." It was Corporate Challenge day, so I went out early to put up some controls, and then vet one of the courses, and then followed up with a bit more jogging around. The participants were surprisingly better than in past years, I'd say. There were still people who were super awful, but there was quite a few people who were putting in very respectable times, between 20 and 30 minutes. If only we could get them to come back.

In the afternoon I decided to do something I have done in a little while, a 5 Peaks run! Down Mill Creek, up a few hills, down a few hills, not bad at all. A whopping 185 meters of climb. Not bad for the prairies!

Running intervals 1:05:00 [4] 11.64 km (5:35 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Precision

Morning Fast Trax intervals before work. Due to the fact that only Maryann and I were running, and we were the only people with keys to the shop, we had to cut down on the intervals so that we'd make it back in time. Which was good, because a particularly unpleasant fellow showed up 15 minutes early and demanded to come in.

Anyway, 3, 6, 9, 6, 3 minute intervals with 3 minutes off. Felt fairly comfortable on the 9 minuter running at an average of 3:52 on trails. Not bad.

Running 50:00 [1] 9.77 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Precision

Worked for 10 hours at varying offices and shops, and convinced my mother to bike to the shop and pick up the car, so I could bike home. Not really a fan of getting home from a run at 10PM, but, whatever. It was kinda stormy all evening but worked out to be fairly nice by the time I got going.

Orienteering 1:15:00 [4] 13.41 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Precision

After another day off, I feel like my foot is really, really quite better. So, I increased my running just a little by getting dropped off at Fort Edmonton and running to Terwilligar for the Wednesday night. The course was sometimes good, sometimes really not good. Then there were the jackasses who are tearing apart the woods above Terwilligar for their dirt jump area, the kind that shouted at me (and presumably every other orienteering) as we went by with a "ITS OVER THAT WAY".

I may or may not have given them the finger on the way by. *cough*

Note

There was running, but it was really more in a coaching capacity, so it doesn't count.
