Running 1:30:00 [1] 16.5 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2

Jog from one place to another. My hip joint was a little unhappy about yesterday, and never really loosened up. I'm sure that's just a product of a long run on pavement, but the lake look is really the only place that has limited climb, and I think that if I'm doing faster stuff I should sort of avoid doing lots of climbs.

Running tempo 1:15:00 [2] 17.2 km (4:22 / km)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect 4

Bravery! Running around the lake for a tempo workout! Haven't done this in a while, I can feel so not in shape, since the 14k lake loop took a bit longer than normal (55:16), because I didn't do the extra uphill bit, which probably would have put me over an hour, so about 3-4 minutes slower than normal. Still, achilles felt okay and I was heartened by the feeling of getting to do this stuff again. Huzzah!

Running 25:00 [1] 3.9 km (6:25 / km)

Run to the office.

Weights 55:00 [1] 3.9 km (14:06 / km)

Run from the office + weights. This went a little better than last time! Turns out, if you lift weights, next time, you can lift MORE weights.

SCIENCE! SCIENCE AGAIN! +2 HUNDRED!!

Running 25:00 [1] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Still, after yesterday's intensity, my achilles is quite sensitive, so aside from a jog home, I didn't push it any further than that. Volume I will not be able to achieve just yet.

Running 25:00 [1] 3.9 km (6:25 / km)

Morning run to the office.

Running 1:05:00 [3] 10.3 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect 4

I made up a new interval workout, since I feel like my foot can handle it. Sort of.

Basically, I run around the south part of Jyvasjarvi, starting from the bottom of the Ylistonmaki stairs. The bottom part of the loop is about 1800m, and then I run up to the top of the stairs/hill, which is... well, I have no idea how long the climb is, my Garmin is quite clearly incapable of figure that out, it thinks the middle of the climb is the highest point.

Strava thinks I started the bottom of the hill 130m elevation, climbed up to 150, then went BACK down to 130 by the top. Meanwhile, Garmin connect thinks I started at 85m, and climbed all the way up to 89m. So... a lot of numbers going there.

In any case, it was pretty tough, I ran the flat bits at around 3:15 pace and then I was happy to see a good spike in my HR when I hit the hill, which makes me feel I had a bit more to give. This was tough. But good, I think. Each interval was about 7 mins long. Nice if it were a bit shorter.

Weights 55:00 [1] 3.9 km (14:06 / km)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect 4

Jog home from the office, then popped into the crappy Keltinmaki gym for hopefully a return to regular weight training. This will be immediately messed up by the fact that I'm going to the UK next Wednesday. Oops.

Oh well, I'm sure its good for me.

Running 45:00 [1] 9.2 km (4:53 / km)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect 4

My Achilles is actually getting a little better. Still a little sore, but not for as long and not as distinctly painful, so running (and by extension, logging), is getting more enjoyable again. Huzzah!
