Sunday May 18

Event: Open 5

Cycling warm up/down 18:00 [3] 3.25 km (5:32 / km) +90m 4:52 / km
Route from registration to start - nice long hill! But fairly steady climb.
Adventure Race race 4:33:44 [5]*** 41.26 km (6:38 / km) +1343m 5:42 / km
~3 hrs biking time & ~1.5 hrs running - might have been able to get another control on the run, but chose a shorter route as terrain had been very steep to that point.
Better team work & communication compared to Wan Dae last year. Andrew principally navigating but combined skills used effectively.
Cycling warm up/down 15:00 [3] 3.5 km (4:17 / km)
Much steeper climb out of finish area (v hard work after race!), but a good blast downhill back to registration!

(rest day)

Wednesday May 14

Horse riding (Hacking) 1:00:00 [0]
Very sharp & quite strong but behaved pretty well. Canter work along tracks - obedient & fairly balanced. Only a little spooky.

Tuesday May 13

Climbing 2:40:00 [3]
shoes: Boreal Joker
Bouldering ~30 mins before & after top roping.
Managed couple of 6a+ routes. Mostly climbing 5+... finding these much easier now more confident with foot placement.
C • 2mins 40secs, think you wer... 2

Monday May 12

Running hills 1:32:03 [4] 11 km (8:22 / km) +670m 6:25 / km
shoes: Saucony Grid Nitrous
Pentland Skyline with ESOC - 9 Mile Burn to Flotterstone.

Hills hard work after weekend - walking most uphill sections. Recovering rapidly once at top & descending.
