Saturday Jun 7

Digging/Hammering 2:00:00 [2]
Gotta get the beans into the ground... more of the plastic beds, but this time, I knew how to do it and was very efficient.

Another $200 at home despot. Got everything on the list, except for what my wife asked for (no snapdragons).

I used to love going to hardware stores (Davis Hardware). Something about the big box stores kills the spirit. Of course, having 2 fully laden carts disappear (for reshelving?) after looking for stuff for an hour over the past couple months will dampen the spirit.

Friday Jun 6

Run with dog 17:30 [3]1.75 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: defyance (sic)
Ick. Muggy city.
walk dog 15:00 [1]0.75 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: new balance
double ick.

Thursday Jun 5

Run with dog 20:00 [3]2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: defyance (sic)
Out late last night at school, so slept in a bit. Didn't stretch as much before running, so was somewhat tight.

It's going to be one ugly weekend - 90's and humid. Won't do much running, so needed to get something in, even if it was a lame workout.

Wednesday Jun 4

walk dog 15:00 [1]0.75 mi (20:00 / mi)
(rest day) shoes: new balance
Needed to sleep in this morning, as I was barely functional at work due to poor sleeping for previous 2 days.
walk dog 10:00 [1]0.5 mi (19:58 / mi)

Tuesday Jun 3

Run with dog 10:00 [2]1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: defyance (sic)
Need more sleep
Digging/Hammering 1:00:00 [2]
Making beds/frame for green beans. Lots of digging.

Used hardware from http://www.frameitall.com - Given the cost, it's kind of flimsy. However, it was a lot quicker than building it up using outdoor lumber (started and finished in one evening).

So far, I plan to leave it 'open' (no screen or chicken wire). If the birds / deer / groundhog get it, then it is a learning experience for next year. On the other hand, I may put chicken wire on top for someplace for the beans to climb on.

If it is 1/2 as productive as the "garden" in Wisconsin, then we should be eating vegetables until we are sick of them.

Monday Jun 2

Run with dog 25:00 [3]2.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: defyance (sic)
Ran with soft lifts rather than orthotics because of sore heel padding on left foot.

Not sure how far I ran - came back to house after first dog poop, then went out again (and he went again - on rooster-house's lawn) Luckily I carry extra bags...

Nice to be able to run again in AM.
walk dog 10 [1]0.5 mi (19 / mi)

Sunday Jun 1

Digging/Hammering (General Gardening) 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: new balance
Gardening for 5 hours, only will count 1. Luckily it was an overcast/cooler day than last weekend. Good for putting the final touches on the raised bed and planting (peppers & tomatoes from Bristol's)

walk dog 25:00 [1]1.25 mi (20:00 / mi)
Still stiff & somewhat sore, but not at all painful.
