My worst bit of orienteering EVER
Very hot day.
Barely beat the 80 year old Karl.

Base map didn't seem to match the trails. Then again, if I had actually read the map, I would have realized that no, those are not trails, but are broken down fences.

Brought R & Jonesy back to the start after 1 hour. J had the right idea of lying down in any shady spot for the previous 10 minutes. You humans are crazy!

Still have no idea where I was when I was on the blue-blaze trail. Not a clue whatsoever - was headed North when I thought I was going south. Face-planted myself 4 separate times on that trail.

Bushwacked far too many times.

Panicked at end - how long do they wait before looking for my prostrate body out in the bush.

I just noticed that there is blood on my map. What a fitting end to my worst o-meet ever.

----
upon further investigation, I have realized that I should have been looking for stone walls rather than paths. My eyes are getting weak (not helped by the 1:15000 scale).

Ended up in 12th place due to the miracle of people not getting back in time. Those results sure got up there very quickly.
