Long run to the start

Running andrea's course, nice and short... but felt tired and not focused. Slightly late to the start, had to go up the late shute... thought I still started on the right minute, but they made me punch some late box thingy. Did have problems finding the first control, lots of tracks and vague. Another control I got off on my compass and wandered before hitting the trail.

Was not sure how I would feel, but once I started running I felt generally good. Still a bit of a tired feeling going uphill but able to push through. Felt I navigated well in general, finding the controls well in the forest with not much hesitation (using linear features to help me get through crappy vegetation areas).
- Not sure about my route to 4, there might have been one to the right that had less climb.
- Also, fumbled a bit on the last loop, including getting way to the south of 23... misread the trails/rides.

Got passed by the girl behind me between 5-6 (saw her at 5, and the girl I had caught glommed onto her... but I took a slightly different route). Then saw Sam (and the other two girls) first coming out of 6 when I was going in. I must admit I was happy to see her, as I had no real gauge of how the race was going and was getting a bit demoralized from being passed by the girl who started behind me... so it gave me a bit of a boost. Then started to see her ahead a few controls later and passed her from 10-11, and we ran close to each other for a bit after that.

Far far too slow and cautious... scared from all my screw ups yesterday, and trying to have flow but not pushing it enough for in a woc final. Also, need to figure out how to be less nervous and sleep more... as I was pretty tired by the third day of competition, and I still kept waking up wayyy early and all nervous.

Generally ok race, but too many problems scattered throughout. Another control that I was near and just could not see the pit/control, circled and re-attacked. Also, got pulled off running with an irish girl and had to hook left to a control.

WUOC Long - started out pretty good. Then a few bobble on the forking, one I just could not see even though I was very close (this seems to be the story of the week, the vegetation just makes it hard to see stuff). Then really screwed up 14, getting too low and going into the wrong area and having to climb back up... stupid, since I should have taken the better/safer route to the right anyway.

WUOC model, not the most relevant (but still relevant compared to anything else I have been on ;). The finish was a few metres from the Mediterranean and we went swimming after!
