Orienteering 1:41:00 [3]
Was told I couldn't start, since I forgot my bib (a rule I was not aware of, but hopefully will not forget). This was mentally hard to deal with, since i felt like I had dealt with so many logistics just to manage to show up at the start line clothed and semi ready to run... that this was what had made it so I couldn't start seemed inconceivable. After my mental meltdown I asked if I could run after the others as dsq... But mentally I wasn't there at this point and nearly went back to the arena at several points (particularly when the course looped near it, but tried to tell myself the negative topography I was about to enter was relevant for tomorrow).
Bad hook into the control on the long leg, and several minutes lost on 13 where I bailed after problems interpreting some depressions. Other general slightly wandering bits and lack of focus and speed/motivation due to start issues.
I did not lodge a protest, but was later reinstated... Which made me upset again since it didn't feel like I got to race. Also, in no way was I ever informed that the iof rules were different and maybe i should have actually been allowed to start / race at my proper start time.
