Note

Physio reckons it's nerve tightness rather than muscle damage. Should be a quick recovery. She then shoved some needles in the muscle which now hurt a lot more than the original injury!

WMRA WLDMRC DNF.
Felt so-so on the first climb. Bit further back than I'd have liked but confident I'd be stronger once I got going. Pushed quite hard on the descent and made up a few places. About 2/3s of way down calf got sore, eased off, got caught again. Thought it might be ok once the climbing started. It very much wasn't. Stopped to stretch. No difference. Number off, race over.
That's quite annoying.

Taper4: finally feeling good! First time for a while! Two hard climbs on a very warm muggy day. PB for the dry valley route to the summit (6:39) then a terribly paced MFD (5:40?). Good to go!

BMC5000m. Pretty rubbish really. Didn't have a plan, did have very heavy legs. Tried to go at <15:00 pace but quickly found myself on my own and making hard work of it. Oh well!

Popped in to see Chris Mitchell en route to a Trotter BBQ. Fierce Brewery's Tropical Tart is a taste sensation!

2 mile race then 6x400. 5 mins post race and minute between reps.
The race was a pretty poor 9:49. First lap felt faster than 4:57 but wasn't! Glad I did this to bust some rust.
400s were decent though, 69->66s. Had Pat for company which helped.
