shoes: Barefoot

Gentle spin in front of the big event in South America to flush the legs out. Thoughts:
Time passes much quicker watching sport than American drama series.
How cool is the BBC Sport On Demand service? Big list of sports to watch live or on catch up. Imagine if that sort of mainstream coverage of minority sports wasn't limited to a fortnight every four years.
The GB women's rugby 7's team got what they deserved based on tonights performances. Shame, as they looked medal-worthy in the earlier rounds.

Running race 2:31:00 [3] 23.75 km (6:21 / km) +1300m 5:00 / km
shoes: VJ iRock #2

Glenshee 1 aka the Carn Aosda Hurricane Battle Mountain Extreme Race.
I left my running legs halfway round the 400m yesterday. Left for dead on the first descent, couldn't make any inroads on the track running. Made up some time around halfway and got into 3rd but Al got away descending Carn Tuirc and then I was reduced to a crawl up Carn Aosda and Sam Alexander got back ahead.
Kris 2:18, Doug 2:21 - decent running.

Running 26:51 [3] 5.0 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2000 #6 - Red

Cruising round Portobello parkRun as a guard of honour for mum as she joined the 100 run club.
3 PM

Running race 2:16 [3] 0.8 km (2:50 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #2

Well paid warm up (better for Spongey though).

Running race 29:00 [3] 5.7 km (5:05 / km) +350m 3:54 / km
shoes: VJ iRock #2

Creag Dhubh HR. Second to the top, not far behind Joe - pretty happy with that. Got past him on the descent - happy with that. Spongey caught me up and destroyed me on the last bit of descent to beat me in a hill race for the first time ever - I guess I'm happy that he's in form approaching WOC... still 2nd overall, happy with that.

Running race 4:38 [3] 1.5 km (3:05 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #2

Fast warm down…
Slow through 600m (2:00) then pace picked up. Spongey and Jamie Crowe got away, Tom came past at the bell but I managed to get back on him on the last bend to nick 3rd.

Running race 1:10 [3] 0.4 km (2:55 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #2

A race too far…

Running race 21 [3] 0.15 km (2:20 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #2

Relay to finish. Silver for HBT (but first mixed team and first one-club team) ((probably a good thing we didn't have to race the Inverness girls team though)).

Running race 40:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #1

North Berwick Law race. Hanging on to Tom up the climb, on a well dodgy line that meant a steeper route than usual. Turned at the top about 10s down and my quads decided not to work.
Try running down a steep hill without using your quads. It's not easy.
Still, Tom is still mince at downhilling so I passed him just below the bottom. He passed me again on the road but then minced on a slightly slippy chicane in the park. We were together hitting the high street and I was able to kick on for the win. Happy days.
Hoping my quads are better behaved at the weekend.

Running 46:40 [3] 9.6 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2000 #6 - Red

Went for a run. Just a run. Can't really remember the last time I did that.
It wasn't a fast run. Far from it.
