| The ACT long distance champs at Boboyan Divide. i won! which is always good. it was..generally very good apart from a super duper silly route choice at number 8 - 9, where i looked under the rock tooo much and saw a gully, so thought ooh! i'll run up it, and then realised that it was covered in big rocks! by that time i was already in them, so oh well. and it took me a while to find number 12 once i was inside the control circle because it was very nicely sandwiched between a tree and a cliff and a boulder. trickkyy.
i felt slow though. a bit tired. maybe that stopped me running faster than i can navigate. but that's depressing because it means i can't navigate very fast! and thankyou to carol harding, the gingerbread compass was very yummy!

| horrificness at honeysuckle! that's alliteration.
the first 4 controls were okay. a bit shaky and seemed a bit lucky, but okay. i wasn't properly properly in contact. but satisfactorily. UNTIL! number 5. rarr, so silly. i don't know what possessed me to make suchhh a silly route choice when there was a beautiful catching feature right behind it! anyway. i ran across the vague vagueness, being vague, until i thought i got to what was the knoll which was my attackpoint. and then down into the marsy gully in which the control was in. and up. and..there should be the control! or not. so no matter, run out to the track and relocate. OR you could orientate your map 90degrees wrong and run the wrong direction. then, when you don't find the track, you could orientate the map correctly and run to the big boulder cluster on a track which should have been your attackpoint originally. and then! you could orientate your map 180degrees wrong (!!!) and run the opposite direction!! until you find your number 9, and orientate the map RIGHT and go slowly into the control. geeez what a saga. the next control was a bit of a shambles as well. the navigation to the attackpoint was fine and then i ORIENTATED my map wrong again twice!! and finally got it. from there on it was fine, slow but okay. rarrr i am such a sillyhead. lessons to be learnt. 1. always orientate the map. 2. always check you've orientated the map. 3. always check you've orientated the map CORRECTLY! 4. always orientate the map.

| a pretty okay run at murryong ridge. the only real "mistake" was being a bit hesitant for number 2 and screwing up the direction a bit.
i got a largeopainful cramp in my right quad nearo the start. and through the course. so i felt slow. plus! i stepped on a rock. which usually happens a lot, but this rock was unusually painful, and resulted in a swollen bruisy throbbing foot. so i was a pile of superficial ow.
