| Down Peace St. to Broughton, then over to Hillsboro and back along Hillsboro to the Capital, clockwise around the Capitol continuing on to Person, back along Person to Polk. 7pm, cool, quiet. A bit of trouble from the right arch, but not much. | ||

| Bubba Goat at Umstead South (camp Whispering Pines). We didn't go much above Crabtree Creek, but the US Team A-meet will have to venture into the southern part to have a reasonable length blue course for both days, so this event was quite relevant (not that I have any business at a WRE).
Managed to squeak in the win with less than a 1 second margin of victory over David Curry. Admittedly, he dropped his punch card and had to jog an extra ~1k to retrieve it, so I should have been second. Very clean run. The non-spiked controls were one 30 second error and one non-optimal route choice. Yes! I can do an Orange course without screwing up! Arches gave no problems. Wore tights, which was nice. Not much greenery at this time of the year. | ||

| Picking up some controls after the Bubba Goat. Arches still held up, which actually I was a bit surprised about. | ||
Bubba Goat - Splits | ||
Saturday Mar 25 | ||
| running (road) 20:54 [2] 2.49 mi (8:23 / mi) | ||
| shoes: asics gel-landreth II | ||
| Polk-Clifton-Brookside. Kind of chilly for Raleigh in March, but it's supposed to be 57F tomorrow, so should be nice for the Bubba Goat. | ||
Monday Mar 20 | ||
| basketball 40:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: asics gel-landreth II | ||
| Bexley IM game. We lost, despite my 6 points, 3 steals and a few rebounds, a personal high, but not exactly B-league calibre. | ||
Sunday Mar 19 | ||
| Event: Boston Area Training: Boojum | ||
| Orienteering 1:27:19 [3] *** 8 km (10:55 / km) | ||

| Training at Boojum Rock. Lost a bunch of time (10 min?) at the various blank sections of the map. Tried wearing my orienteering shoes. Arches were bothered towards the end, not sure if that was specifically due to the shoes. | ||
Saturday Mar 18 | ||
| running (road) 29:21 [2] 3.77 mi (7:46 / mi) | ||
| ahr:163 max:173 slept:9.5 shoes: asics gel-landreth II | ||
| Museum loop. Didn't get much sleep thursday night, and then slept a bunch last night, which always leaves me feeling lazy the next day. So it was kind of a sluggish-feeling run. | ||
Thursday Mar 16 | ||
| running (road) 31:59 [2] 4.07 mi (7:51 / mi) | ||
| ahr:159 max:171 shoes: asics gel-landreth II | ||

| running (road) 36:03 [3] 4.78 mi (7:32 / mi) | ||

| Longfellow-BU loop. Going towards Longfellow I was thinking that it wasn't so windy, but then I crossed over to the south side of the river and realized I had been sheltered by buildings and running with the wind to my back. So actually it was quite windy. Went faster than I was planning. Had intended a pace more like Saturday's, but I guess the wind threw me off a bit. Left arch is feeling tight, but not painful. | ||
Tuesday Mar 14 | ||
| soccer (indoor) 30:00 [1] | ||

| kicking a ball around on the raquetball court with collin, charlie and tyler. No serious running involved. | ||
Monday Mar 13 | ||
| rollerblading 20:00 [2] | ||
| harvard and back. my groin is sore again from soccer yesterday. Will have to leave off with the soccer until after spring break, I think. Works out well since interest at Bexley is waning at the moment. | ||

| shoes: diadora tornates | ||
| played with some random south americans on the grass. was actually out there for more like 2:15, but spent a good deal of time stopped while they complained about having lost the ball, or just walking. Quads started out a bit sore from yesterday and are quite tired now. | ||

Sunday Mar 5 | ||
| Note | ||
| weight:163lbs (sick) | ||
| Flew back from NC and promptly fell asleep for 3 hours, then went to eat some dinner and promptly puked it up. Seems I have contracted a pretty horrible stomach virus. At the moment can't keep anything much down at all. | ||
