Sunday May 13

cycling warm up/down 1:30:00 [2]
slept:11.0
To/from Hammond Pond. The thigh contusion I picked up yesterday was not liking this.
Orienteering race (sprint) 22:50 [4] *** 3.2 km (7:08 / km) +80m 6:21 / km
spiked:9/11c shoes: Adidas Novas
NEOC sprint at Hammond Pond. Got Ross by 10 seconds. Pretty clean run. Was able to look ahead, recognize the features I was navigating off of, and execute well. Legs kind of tired.
stretching warm up/down 20:00 [0]
Throughout the day.
cycling warm up/down 40:00 [2]
To/from MIT.
soccer (turf) 20:00 [4]
shoes: diadora tornates
With Bexley on the turf at MIT. Won 1-0. Scored one sweet goal. Played for more like 50 minutes, but a lot of that was standing around.
strength 10:00 [3]
Calves + knee stabilization.

Sprint - Splits

Saturday May 12

soccer (grass) 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: diadora tornates
Game with the West Town Rockets at Danehy. Actually played for 80 minutes. Despite dominating the game, we only won 1-0. We lost way too many second balls and had some pretty inaccurate passing, but worst of all the ref decided to rail us with a slew of ridiculous calls. It always ticks me off when a ref makes some bogus call and then asks you to 'take it easy' or tells you to 'back off a little there, buddy'. If he were making legit calls, I would feel much less inclined to tackle hard enough to hurt people.
Catching Features 30:00 [0] *****

Ran and re-ran an OCAD map from Scandanavia. Really hard. The first time I completely blew 3 or 4 controls out of 10. The second time I spent 30 CF seconds planning my route for each leg. I never noticed this before, but the CF clock slows down (to maybe even real time?) when in map-orientation mode. So you can spend a lot longer planning your leg than you think. Or at least that's one way to look at it. This totally counts for training.

Thursday May 10

Note
4mi run + 6x30sec strides.
Knee stabilization.
stretching warm up/down 15:00 [0]
running (dirt) 33:05 [2] 3.91 mi (8:26 / mi)
Jefferson-JFK-Eliot-Western-JFK-Jefferson after the sun had largely set. Stopped for strides at JFK before returning to Jefferson. Getting down to the river is a royal pain in the neck when Harvard Square is in the way.

Didn't think about it and ran in my (old worn-out) everyday sneakers.
running (strides) 3:00 [5] 1 km (3:00 / km)
6x30sec strides, ~45sec rest between.

Wednesday May 9

Note
3mi run + 6x30sec strides.
Core strenth.
stretching warm up/down 15:00 [0]
swimming/DWR 15:00 [3]
Forgot to bring anything to school to run in.
strength (core) 15:00 [5]
I need to be less slack about this stuff.

Tuesday May 8

Event: CSU Boston Park Series - Fresh Pond

running warm up/down 5:00 [2] 0.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Novas
Warm up jog with Thibaud.
Orienteering race (sprint) 15:41 [5] *** 2.85 km (5:30 / km)
spiked:14/15c slept:4.0 shoes: Adidas Novas
Larry's park-o at Fresh Pond. Screwed up #2 by going up the wrong re-entrant (thought I saw the road bending off to the right, but was mistaken). Otherwise clean. That cost me maybe 30sec.
stretching warm up/down 5:00 [0]

Advanced - Splits

Monday May 7

Note
(rest day)
Core/upper.
