Sunday Jul 8

Event: Skyline trail race

Note
Looks like I've got a 15 mile bike ride ending at 240ft before I even start running. Probably should get a 6:45am start (groan), and schlepp it a little faster than I typically ride.
cycling warm up/down 1:10:00 [2]
slept:8.0
About 14.5 miles, stopped a couple times to check the map. Arrived just as Jeff was beginning his schpiel.
running race (trail) 1:31:50 [4] 7.2 mi (12:46 / mi) +600m 6:18 / km
ahr:156 max:171 shoes: Adidas Novas
Turns out climbing requires more or less the same muscles as biking (well, probably more) so my 70 minute "warm-up" kind of took the smack out of the uphills. On the upside (or downside, as it were) I can fall down a rocky trail as fast as anyone, so I probably made up a few minutes on the downhills. I was a little worried towards the end, since there's only so far reflexes will take you when your legs are giving out, but I didn't injure anything. Except that thing in my foot that was bothering me a few weeks back. It's a little sore now.

Thanks much to the Halls for giving me a lift home. That would have been a pretty painful cool-down.

soccer 50:00 [3]
slept:8.0 shoes: diadora tornates
Game at Danehy with WTR, lost 5-1. I had no energy, and was totally exhausted after the game.

Friday Jul 6

running 20:00 [2] ** 4 km (5:00 / km)
slept:5.0 shoes: Gel Cumulus 2006
Checking out/hanging the night-o course. 9 people showed up, and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun, so maybe campus night-o is a reasonable format.
stretching warm up/down 15:00 [0]
Note
My legs feel like crap after not having done much of anything this week. I think I've also slightly overstretched my hamstrings.

Thursday Jul 5

mapping (sprint) 2:00:00 [0] **
Added a new building, some overhangs, and a whole bunch of construction to the Harvard map for the night-o tomorrow.

Wednesday Jul 4

running warm up/down (road/track) 32:00 [2] 3.75 mi (8:31 / mi)
rhr:49 slept:8.0 shoes: Gel Cumulus 2006
Ran over to the Harvard track from Jefferson, then ran a mile on the track, including 3 200s to get up to speed. They were slow (51, 47.7, 44.1) which was probably a bad sign. Then jogged 800m afterwards and ran back to Jefferson.
running race (track) 5:55 [5] 1.0 mi (5:55 / mi) vdot: 49.2
shoes: Gel Cumulus 2006
Mile time trial on the track. Terry suggested at the track workout last week that I should find a race to do today. I looked, and they were all further than I wanted to bike, or else longer than I wanted to run, or else in the evening. But I still wanted to see how fast I am, so I ran a time trial. I felt slow and was slow. It was also windy.

Tuesday Jul 3

Note
Another unintentional day of no activity. Was planning to do a short easy map run, but I forgot to bring running shorts to school, then forgot to bring my running shoes home. Really could have used a run today.

Monday Jul 2

strength 35:00 [4]
slept:8.0
General circuit. Tried to do more core stuff this week.
