Event: NEOC Great Brook Farm

Red course at Great Brook Farm. Loused up the first control (seemed like there were some extra boulders in there?) and the 15th control (again, extra boulders; map is pretty sketchy). Otherwise a pretty good run. Comparing splits with Vanessa afterwards, she is fast! Will be an interesting relay champs.

Shadowed Alex on a course over at Hammond Pond. Much opportunity for improvement on her part, but she's looking for the right stuff. We were actually out for more like an hour, but some standing around, etc. Nice weather - cool, raining; typical early fall day.

Game with the WTR out at Weston(?) High School. Won 5-1. Scored 1 goal and was blatantly fouled on another opportunity resulting in a pk goal. Pretty shitty game, though. I picked off 3 or 4 balls and had a couple more breakaways that I loused up. Need to finish better. Felt pretty good despite the morning's activities.

Run with Lori along the Charles. She was feeling a bit dehydrated so there was some walking after the 25' mark. Some crazy road race along the Charles was taking up the whole sidewalk and running in the opposite direction, which kind of sucked. I think I saw Jenn at the front of the pack.

The run with Lori left my workout somewhat unfulfilled, but I had some stuff with me, so I didn't feel like running anywhere, hence the treadmill. Jacked the slope up to 8 for two bouts of 4min each. Not a bad way to do hills, actually (I think it's Daniels' preferred method, even).

Ross's training at Hammond Pond. I got there a bit late so Pia had already gone out, and it was just me and Ross. We decided to alternate legs. Turns out neither of us had remembered to bring a compass, but that wasn't a problem. In fact, I should probably never run with a compass there since I know it so well by now.
