Running tempo 46:19 [4]
I needed to convince myself that I could give the 'City 2 Surf' a go this Sunday - even skipped 'the Boss's Shout' over at 'the Terrace'!! 6 weeks ago I was sure I would run a PB this Sunday - this will not be the case now, but I will be at the start line, and I will have a red hot go - we have entered the 'family of four category', and I am fearful of being the weakest link!!

Warm Up/Warm Down warm up/down (warm down) 10:00 [1]
Jog and stretch - tried to keep Angus company in the process. Not convinced the recent surgical procedure has completely eliminated his undesireable personal tendency!!!

Running 32:06 [3]
First road run in almost three weeks. Took the safe option of a short run around Ashtonfield. Very pleased with the outcome.

Warm Up/Warm Down warm up/down (warm down) 12:00 [1]
Jogging, resistance work, stretching.

Sunday Aug 3

Warm Up/Warm Down warm up/down (warm up) 10:00 [2]
Some tentative jogging trying to convince myself the calf was up to a run, rather than walk around a course to-day. Decided to give a run a go, but opted for medium red - 4.5km rather than 6.1km long red, just to be on the safe side.
Orienteering race 59:06 [3] *** 4.5 km (13:08 / km) +90m 11:56 / km

'Little Burkes Creek / 1:10 000'. Plenty to be positive about - the calf muscle survived, and I did very little walking - just not all the quick with the running speed either I guess. Should be happy with that, and I am, but lost about 8 minutes combined on my two really poor controls, both in classic Hunter Valley watercourse related scrub - thick, low visibility, which always seems to sort me out. Over 120 entries today - close to Newcastle and superb weather seems to be a common characteristic of the really well attended events the club has run this year
