Orienteering 1:20:00 [3] ***
Set up these intervals last Thursday - finally got the family out there today. Did them all myself, at a bit of speed, but still inhibited by pain in the achilles. Time includes warm up, four short courses, control collection. Navigation just OK - was looking for more of a confidence boost than what I got! Family all enjoyed themselves - a positive and enjoyable afternoon. Achilles in the cold end of the pool when we got home.

Walking 20:00 [1]
Dug deep into the back recesses of the garden shed and found the 'Repco Elite RX'. Brushed off the dust and cobwebs and walked this fine machine up to the local servo to put some air in the tyres.
Cycling (Road) 9:00 [2]
Rode home from the Servo. Tyres stayed up, brakes seemed OK, and gears changed - all a good sign. Took just 3 minutes to remember how much I hate cycling up hill! I'll have to get use to it though - to quote Bill Lawry, my achilles is 'gooooooooooone'!

Orienteering race 1:15:00 [3] ***
'Darks Common' / 1 7500. Happy to be part of the family 'gift' of a trip to the final Metro League. In two minds how to approach this, and glad only a shorter red was on offer EOD - the achilles had settled well, started running, but got worried and mixed in a lot of walking. My Orienteering was very poor, and by the end of the course I felt both shattered and confused about how poor I really was today - it was humiliating to be last finished in such a poor time - though not sure of actual time just yet.
Fortunately though today was all about 'Fathers Day' - great lunch at Glenbrook after the event, scones from lil nic and some super gifts when we got home. A great day - thanks family.
