Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

ha did quite a bit of warm up because my start was later

Orienteering race 15:03 [5] **** 2.9 km (5:11 / km) +40m 4:51 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

nsw sprint champs and final day of QB3. ran ok but was slow in the circle a bit. other then that it was good. had trouble processing the complex buildings on the fly. good map and course. came second, wasn't too far behind josh either which was good. ended up with first in M18s overall too.
garmin dist 3.56

Orienteering race (training) 15:31 [5] **** 3.8 km (4:05 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

mass start race after with the senior boys except josh. was pretty tired but was intense. kas pulled away but i caught him then dropped him only to have rob catch up from his mistake and overtake me. then managed to catch rob and just beat him. really good race and training

pleased about schools team selection, i reckon the team is pretty strong, especially senior boys. watch out other states!

Stretching 10:00 [1]

first stretch for the whole weekend :O

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

a bit before and to the start with josh and angus

Orienteering race 52:11 [5] **** 7.5 km (6:57 / km) +115m 6:28 / km
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

to be honest i wasn't very pleased with my run. felt like i made some rookie mistakes in places. but overall i guess i was running well and didn't really lose much time. was fairly pleased when i got back though. highlight was the tie with kas on finish chute for sure.
fair happy, going into tomorrow with a 17 min lead. hopefully i won't mispunch.
garmin dist 9.14

Orienteering warm up/down 30:00 [3]
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

collecting controls with rob. ran out to them and did a sorta map memory thing with no compass. all good except one which we sorta couldn't find and screwed up a bit. then jogged back but met josh, tamara and alex so walked with them.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

10 mins warm up along start track back and forwards
5 mins warm down between assembly and car

Orienteering race 39:02 [5] *** 5.6 km (6:58 / km) +115m 6:19 / km
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

day 1 of QB3 out at kitchener. middle distance.
was pretty early but that was ok. really enjoyed the pivot controls. ran fairly well, slightly sloppy in the control circle but good otherwise. only really lost time on way to 11 where i stopped to tie shoes and also went too high in the gully and had to work out where i was. pretty happy with my run
garmin dist = 6.53kms
thanks heaps karen, it was really fun :)

Orienteering (control collecting) 15:00 [3]
shoes: Dads Helly Hansons

collecting some controls after. ended up carrying 6 stands up the hill, which turned out to be harder then i expected

Thursday Jun 4, 2009 #

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.9 km (5:16 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

felt like doing a warm up

Running tempo 25:45 [4] 6.42 km (4:01 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

bit of tempo. bit stop start at various road intersections, fences, stairs etc. made it hard to sustain a pace. cut it 13mins short because i was feeling a bit tired and it was dark and i have an engineering report to finish

Stretching 10:00 [1]

Note
slept:5.0

Running long 2:01:28 [3] 25.21 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

so longgggg run. such a nice one too
had such a great day. had a free first so slept in. then finished at 1 :)
seemed to have so much energy too. went a bit slower and found that around 4 50 min/k is just right. did my normal loop except reversed and with a bit extra. got pretty muddy too when i wasn't on the road which was a fair bit. finished feeling tired but not exhausted which was great :)

Stretching 10:00 [1]

not feeling too sore right now which is excellent :)
