Ultra sprint out the front of the SCG. Was so much fun. And a bit tricky in places! My left knee pulled up really sore from yesterday's bush o shock to the system and hurt a bit whilst running. Other than that I didn't seem to have the speed to match the others which was disappointing. Big stuff up on the second leg too where I lost about 20 secs. Finished up 9th but was enough to take 4th overall, although miles behind the top 3

Day 4 at Lapstone. Not an ideal start for me, didn't get much sleep last night so was a bit slow to get going from home in the morning. Arrived about 10 mins before my start time but had to get fully dressed and lacing up my ankle braces takes a bit of time. Then queued up for the toilet. Got to the start as I was meant to be in front of the map, then realised I hadn't cleared. So pretty much ran over, picked up my map and went. Took me a bit of time to get into the right mindset and had a couple of small misses early on. Felt so tired and rubbish, was coughing up mucus as I was running too. Had absolutely nothing for the last loop and couldn't push on the tracks at all. Luckily everyone else seemed equally as flat and I came in 4th.

Day 3 at Pyrmont. Summer series format. Started out well, 1st km was 3:28. Faded pretty badly after the stairs out of the light rail station and backed off a bit. Pretty slow for the rest, just trying to keep a good pace up. On my way to the last control, I noticed another control not on my map. Realised then that there was other line courses and the first control id been to wasnt mine!! Had to run past the finish and out to the correct number 7 and back. Took me an extra 1:30 and cost me the win. Would have been just under 40mins otherwise. So disappointed with myself. Had to settle for 4th

Day 2 on Cockatoo Island. Very cool area and map. Started well, was being a little cautious and trying to plan ahead. A few hesitations on 6-7-8 through me a little and didn't get to really plan to 10. Had a look at it and realised I had to go up, but didn't see the stairs just behind the control. Ended up above it, reckon I would have lost a good 20 secs at least on this leg. Ok for the rest but felt slow navigating. Ended up 12th. 14 mins would have been good. Throat really sore today but nothing coming from it yet.

Xmas 5 days Day 1 at Georges Heights. Was a bit tight getting there, finished work at 2:30 and started at 4:45. Made my start with 3 mins to spare. Started ok but took the straight line option to #3 and lost some time in the green. A couple of other smallish mistakes throughout and probably the slower route to 21. Was really slow though the last loop. Finished 9th, probably around a minute slower than I would have liked. Had a bit of a sore throat as well.

Watch suggested 3 days recovery time afterwards haha

Short run testing out the new shoes, shorts, watch, heart rate monitor, etc. Pretty cool to have a garmin again.
