Orienteering 46:00 [5] 6.0 km (7:40 / km)

Blue course at FVO training event at Beecraigs. Was supposed to be using this as a way of getting the JEC proofs from Jase for checking, but as they hadn't been delivered I should probably have stayed nearer home. Run was the usual Beecraigs experience - grot, path running, undergrowth and map/terrain anomalies - overlaid with some spectaular incompetence of my own. I can't remember when I last missed a track junction, or ran into the wrong block of forest for no reason. As an encore I ran straight past the finish and into the car park before working out something was wrong. All in all, not the most inspiring of days out. Still, at least the sun shone.

Up from Linlithgow station to Beecraigs (through a chunk of the area), and back down after. Nice views on the way down the hill.

A couple of slow, steady loops of a soaking wet Cowlairs Park. Heavy going in the long grass, but quite a good session to get the legs working again. Fitness levels seem pretty low just now.

Shetts fartlek around the West End. Going OK for the first half, but struggling with cramping calf towards the end. Tough session, but good to be back. Looking forward to more once JEC is out of the way.
