one area of mapping I will have to think about - the old multi-level conundrum

orienteering race (NOY5) 1:45:50 [3] *** 8.6 km (12:18 / km) +80m 11:46 / km
spiked:2/13c shoes: HH

NOY5 Medium Hard (nominal 5.6km) at "Stanford Scrubs"
probably my worst navigation for several years, not helped by persistent rain and the wrong shoes for the muddy tracks.

Course had 2 point feature controls (#3 & #10) in the "subtle" area where I have had trouble previously, so I maintained, if not increased, my average extent of stuff-up on this map

#2/7/11 was a butterfly control - OK on 2, bad on 7, mediocre on 11 - glad it wasn't also 14!

Run was capped off by trouble at #13 (last control) which turned out to be the infamous #1 on the long course (I spiked the location, but not the flag which didn't spike the location). After 90min+ in the rain I couldn't see what I was doing wrong here, but finally tracked it down to get in just before the last finisher & course close.
